14 – Ibrahim
(1) አ.ለ.ረ (አሊፍ ላም ራ፤ ይህ ቁርአን) ሰዎችን በጌታቸው ፈቃድ ከጨለማዎች ወደ ብርሃን አሸናፊ ምስጉን ወደ ኾነው፡፡ ጌታ መንገድ ታወጣ ዘንድ ወዳንተ ያወረድነው መጽሐፍ ነው፡፡
(1) Alif Lām Ra. This is a book that We have sent down to you, so that you may bring people out of the depths of darkness into the light, by their Lord’s permission, to the path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
(2) አላህ ያ በሰማያት ያለው በምድርም ያለው ሁሉ የርሱ ብቻ የኾነ ነው፤ ለከሓዲዎችም ከብርቱ ቅጣት ወዮላቸው፡፡
(2) Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth. And woe to the disbelievers from a severe punishment!
(3) እነዚያ የቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ከመጨረሻይቱ ሕይወት ይበልጥ የሚወዱ ከአላህም መንገድ የሚያግዱ መጥመሟንም የሚፈልጉዋት ናቸው፡፡ እነዚያ በሩቅ ስሕተት ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡
(3) Those who prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter and prevent [people] from Allah’s way, seeking to make it crooked; it is they who have gone far astray.
(4) ከመልክተኛ ማንኛውንም ለእነርሱ ያብራራላቸው ዘንድ በወገኖቹ ቋንቋ እንጂ በሌላ አልላክንም፡፡ አላህም የሚሻውን ያጠማል፡፡ የሚሻውንም ያቀናል፡፡ እርሱም አሸናፊው ጥበበኛው ነው፡፡
(4) We did not send any messenger but in the language of his people to make things clear for them. Allah causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
(5) ሙሳንም ወገኖችህን ከጨለማዎች ወደ ብርሃን አውጣ አላህንም ቀኖች አስገንዝባቸው በማለት በተዓምራታችን በእርግጥ ላክነው፡፡ በዚህ ውስጥ በብዙ ታጋሽና በብዙ አመስጋኝ ለኾኑት ሁሉ በእርግጥ ተዓምራቶች አሉ፡፡
(5) We sent Moses with Our signs [saying], “Bring your people out of the depths of darkness into the light, and remind them of Allah’s days [of favor]. Indeed, there are signs in this for every patient and grateful person.
(6) ሙሳም ለሕዝቦቹ ባለ ጊዜ (አስታውስ)፤ ከፈርዖን ቤተሰቦች መጥፎን ቅጣት የሚያቀምሱዋችሁ ወንዶች ልጆቻችሁንም የሚያርዱ ሴቶቻችሁንም የሚተዉ ሲኾኑ በአዳንናችሁ ጊዜ በእናንተ ላይ (የዋለላችሁን) የአላህን ጸጋ አስታውሱ፡፡ በዚህም ከጌታችሁ የኾነ ታላቅ ፈተና አለበት፡፡
(6) And [remember] when Moses said to his people, “Remember Allah’s favor upon you when He saved you from Pharaoh’s people who were inflicting upon you the worst torment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your women alive; that was a great trial from your Lord.
(7) ጌታችሁም «ብታመሰግኑ በእርግጥ እጨምርላችኋለሁ ብትክዱም (እቀጣችኋለሁ) ቅጣቴ በእርግጥ ብርቱ ነውና» በማለት ባስታወቀ ጊዜ (አስታውሱ)፡፡
(7) And [remember] when your Lord declared, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe indeed.’”
(8) ሙሳም አለ «እናንተም በምድር ያለውም ሁሉ በመላ ብትክዱ አላህ በእርግጥ ተብቃቂ ምስጉን ነው፡፡»
(8) And Moses said, “If you and all those who are on earth were to disbelieve, indeed Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.”
(9) የእነዚያ ከናንተ በፊት የነበሩት የኑሕ ሕዝቦች የዓድም የሰሙድም የእነዚያም ከእነሱ በኋለ የነበሩት ከአላህ በስተቀር ሌላ የማያውቃቸው (ሕዝቦች) ወሬ አልመጣላችሁምን መልክተኞቻቸው በማስረጃዎች መጧቸው፡፡ እጆቻቸውንም (በቁጭት ሊነክሱ) ወደ አፎቻቸው መለሱ፡፡ አሉም «እኛ እናንተ በርሱ በተላካችሁበት ነገር ካድን እኛም ወደርሱ ከምትጠሩን ነገር አወላዋይ በኾነ ጥርጣሬ ውስጥ ነን፡፡»
(9) Have there not come to you the stories of those who came before you – the people of Noah, ‘Ād and Thamūd, and those who came after them? No one knows them except Allah. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they shoved their hands into their mouths and said, “We disbelieve in what you are sent with, and we surely doubt what you are calling us to.”
(10) መልክተኞቻቸው «ከኀጢአቶቻችሁ እንዲምራችሁ ወደ ተወሰነ ጊዜም (ያለ ቅጣት) እንዲያቆያችሁ የሚጠራችሁ ሲኾን ሰማያትንና ምድርን ፈጣሪ በኾነው አላህ (በመኖሩ) ጥርጣሬ አለን» አሏቸው፡፡ (ሕዝቦቹም) «እናንተ ብጤያችን ሰው እንጂ አይደላችሁም አባቶቻችን ይገዙት ከነበሩት ልትከለክሉን ትሻላችሁ፡፡ ግልጽንም አስረጅ (ካመጣችሁት ሌላ) አምጡልን» አሉ፡፡
(10) Their messengers said, “Can there be any doubt about Allah, the Creator of the heavens and earth? He calls you so that He may forgive some of your sins, and give you respite for an appointed term.” They said, “You are but humans like us! You want to turn us away from what our forefathers used to worship; then bring us a clear proof.”
(11) መልክተኞቻቸው ለእነርሱ አሉ «እኛ ብጤያችሁ ሰው እንጂ ሌላ አይደለንም ግን አላህ ከባሮቹ በሚሻው ሰው ላይ ይለግሳል፡፡ ለእኛም በአላህ ፈቃድ እንጂ ማስረጃን ልናመጣላችሁ አይገባንም፡፡ በአላህም ላይ ምእምናኖች ይጠጉ፡፡
(11) Their messengers said to them, “We are no more than human beings like you, but it is Allah Who bestows His favor upon whom He wills of His slaves. It is not for us to bring you a proof except with Allah’s permission, and in Allah let the believers put their trust.
(12) «መንገዳችንንም በእርግጥ የመራን ሲኾን በአላህ ላይ የማንመካ ለእኛ ምን አለን በማሰቃየታችሁም ላይ በእርግጥ እንታገሳለን፡፡ በአላህም ላይ ተመኪዎች ሁሉ ይመኩ፡፡»
(12) Why should we not put our trust in Allah, and it is He Who has guided us to our ways? We will surely be patient against whatever harm you cause us. And in Allah let the faithful put their trust.”
(13) እነዚያም የካዱት ለመልክተኞቻቸው «ከምድራችን በእርግጥ እናወጣችኋለን፤ ወይም ወደ ሃይማኖታችን በእርግጥ ትመለሳላችሁ» አሉ፡፡ ወደእነርሱም ጌታቸው እንዲህ ሲል ላከ «ከሓዲዎችን በእርግጥ እናጠፋለን፡፡
(13) The disbelievers said to their messengers, “We will surely drive you out of our land unless you return to our religion.” Their Lord then inspired them, “We will certainly destroy the wrongdoers,
(14) «ከእነሱም በኋላ ምድሪቱን በእርግጥ እናስቀምጣችኋለን፡፡ ይኸ በፊቴ መቆሙን ለሚፈራ ዛቻዬንም ለሚፈራ ሰው ነው፡፡»
(14) and We will make you dwell in the land after them. This is for those who fear standing before Me, and who fear My warning.”
(15) እርዳታንም (ከአላህ) ፈለጉ፤ (ተረዱም)፡፡ ጨካኝ ሞገደኛ የኾነም ሁሉ አፈረ፡፡
(15) [The messengers] sought victory, and every obstinate tyrant was doomed.
(16) ከስተፊቱ ገሀነም አለበት፡፡ እዥ ከኾነም ውሃ ይጋታል፡፡
(16) Hell awaits him, and he will be made to drink of oozing pus,
(17) ይጎነጨዋል፤ ሊውጠውም አይቀርብም፡፡ ሞትም ከየስፍራው ሁሉ ይመጣበታል፤ እርሱም የሚሞት አይደለም፡፡ ከስተፊቱም ከባድ ቅጣት አለ፡፡
(17) which he will arduously sip but can hardly swallow it, and death will come to him from every direction, yet he will not die. And ahead of him will be a harsh punishment.
(18) የእነዚያ በጌታቸው የካዱት ሰዎች ምሳሌ (መልካም) ሥራዎቻቸው በነፋሻ ቀን ነፋስ በርሱ እንደ በረታችበት አመድ ነው፡፡ በሠሩት ሥራ በምንም ላይ (ሊጠቀሙ) አይችሉም፡፡ ይህ እርሱ ሩቅ ጥፋት ነው፡፡
(18) The deeds of those who disbelieve in their Lord are like ashes which are blown away by wind on a stormy day. They will gain nothing from what they did; that is the farthest misguidance.
(19) አላህ ሰማያትንና ምድርን በእውነት የፈጠረ መኾኑን አታይምን ቢሻ ያጠፋችኋል፡፡ አዲስ ፍጡርንም ያመጣል፡፡
(19) Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and earth for a true purpose? If He wills, He can take you away and replace you with a new creation.
(20) ይህም በአላህ ላይ አስቸጋሪ አይደለም፡፡
(20) That is not difficult for Allah.
(21) የተሰበሰቡም ኾነው ለአላህ ይገለጻሉ፡፡ (ሐሳበ) ደካማዎቹም (ተከታዮች) ለእነዚያ ለኮሩት «እኛ ለእናንተ ተከታዮች ነበርን፤ እናንተ ከአላህ ቅጣት ከኛ ላይ አንዳችን ነገር ተከላካዮች ናችሁን» ይላሉ፡፡ (አስከታዮቹም) «አላህ ባቀናን ኖሮ በእርግጥ በመራናችሁ ነበር» ይሏቸዋል፡፡ «ብንበሳጭ ወይም ብንታገስም በእኛ ላይ እኩል ነው፡፡ ለእኛ ምንም መጠጊያ የለንም» ይላሉ፡፡
(21) All will appear before Allah, then those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We were your followers; can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah?” They will say, “If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we cry or suffer patiently, we have no escape.”
(22) ነገሩም በተፈጸመ ጊዜ ሰይጣን ይላቸዋል «አላህ እውነተኛውን ቃል ኪዳን ገባላችሁ፡፡ ቃል ኪዳንም ገባሁላችሁ፤ አፈረስኩባችሁም፡፡ ለእኔም በእናንተ ላይ ምንም ስልጣን አልበረኝም፡፡ ግን ጠራኋችሁ፡፡ ለእኔም ታዘዛችሁ፡፡ ስለዚህ አትውቀሱኝ፤ ነፍሶቻችሁንም ውቀሱ፡፡ እኔ የምረዳችሁ አይደለሁም፡፡ እናንተም የምትረዱኝ አይደላችሁም፡፡ እኔ ከአሁን በፊት ለአላህ ተጋሪ በአደረጋችሁት ነገር ካድኩ፡፡ በዳዮቹ ለእነርሱ በእርግጥ አሳማሚ ቅጣት አላቸው፡፡»
(22) Satan will say when the matter is finally decided, “Allah gave you a true promise; I also gave you promise, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you, except that I called you and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot rescue you, nor can you rescue me. I deny your previous association of me with Allah. Indeed, for the wrongdoers there will be a painful punishment.”
(23) እነዚያም ያመኑና መልካም ሥራዎችን የሠሩ ከሥሮቻቸው ወንዞች የሚፈሱባቸውን ገነቶች በውስጣቸው ዘውታሪዎች ሲኾኑ በጌታቸው ፈቃድ እንዲገቡ ይደረጋሉ፡፡ በውስጣቸው መከባበሪያቸው ሰላም (ለእናንተ ይኹን መባባል) ነው፡፡
(23) Those who believe and do righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens under which rivers flow, abiding therein forever, by the permission of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be, “Peace!”
(24) አላህ መልካምን ቃል ሥርዋ (በምድር ውስጥ) የተደላደለች ቅርንጫፍዋም ወደ ሰማይ (የረዘመች) እንደሆነች መልካም ዛፍ አድርጎ ምሳሌን እንዴት እንደገለጸ አላየኽምን
(24) Do you not see how Allah compares a good word to a good tree? Its root is firm and its branches reach the sky,
(25) ምግቧን (ፍሬዋን) በጌታዋ ፈቃድ በየጊዜው ትሰጣለች፡፡ አላህም ለሰዎች ይገሰጹ ዘንድ ምሳሌዎችን ይገልጻል፡፡
(25) yielding its fruit all the times, by the permission of its Lord. Allah makes such comparisons for people, so that they may take heed.
(26) የመጥፎም ቃል ምሳሌ ከምድር በላይ የተጎለሰሰች ለእርሷ ምንም መደላደል የሌላት እንደኾነች መጥፎ ዛፍ ነው፡፡
(26) But an evil word is like an evil tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, having no stability.
(27) አላህ እነዚያን ያመኑትን በቅርቢቱም ሕይወት በመጨረሻይቱም (በመቃብር) በተረጋገጠው ቃል ላይ ያረጋቸዋል፡፡ ከሓዲዎችንም አላህ ያሳስታቸዋል፡፡ አላህም የሚሻውን ይሠራል፡፡
(27) Allah keeps those who believe steadfast with the firm Word [of faith] in the life of this world and in the Hereafter. But Allah causes to stray the wrongdoers; Allah does whatever He wills.
(28) ወደእነዚያ የአላህን ጸጋ በክህደት ወደ ለወጡት ሕዝቦቻቸውንም በጥፋት አገር ወዳሰፈሩት (ወደ ቁረይሾች) አላየህምን
(28) Did you not see those who exchanged Allah’s blessings with disbelief, and led their people to the abode of ruin?
(29) (አገሪቱም) የሚገቧት ስትኾን ገሀነም ናት፡፡ ምን ትከፋም መርጊያ!
(29) In Hell they will burn; what an evil place to settle in!
(30) ለአላህም ከመንገዱ ያሳስቱ ዘንድ ባላንጣዎችን አደረጉለት፡፡ «(ጥቂትን) ተጠቀሙ መመለሻችሁም ወደ እሳት ነው» በላቸው፡፡
(30) They set up rivals to Allah to mislead people from His way. Say, “Enjoy yourselves for a while! Your destination will be the Fire.”
(31) ለእነዚያ ላመኑት ባሮቼ በእርሱ ውስጥ ሽያጭና ወዳጂነት የሌለበት ቀን ከመምጣቱ በፊት ሶላትን በደንቡ ይሰግዳሉ፡፡ ከሰጠናቸውም ሲሳይ በምስጢርም በግልጽም ይለግሳሉ፡፡ (ስገዱ ለግሱም) በላቸው፡፡
(31) Tell My slaves who believe to establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, before there comes a Day when there will be no bargaining or friendship.
(32) አላህ ያ ሰማያትንና ምድርን የፈጠረ ከሰማይም ውሃን ያወረደ በእርሱም ከፍሬዎች ሲሳይን ለእናንተ ያወጣ መርከቦችንም በፈቃዱ በባሕር ላይ ይንሻለሉ ዘንድ ለናንተ የገራ ወንዞችንም ለናንተ የገራ ነው፡፡
(32) It is Allah Who has created the heavens and earth and sent down rain from the sky, producing therewith fruits as provision for you. He has made the ships for your service to sail through the sea by His command, and has made for you the rivers.
(33) ፀሐይንና ጨረቃንም ዘወትር ኼያጆች ሲኾኑ ለእናንተ የገራ ሌሊትንና ቀንንም ለእናንተ የገራላችሁ ነው፡፡
(33) He has made the sun and the moon for your service, both constant in their courses, and has made for you the night and the day.
(34) ከለመናችሁትም ሁሉ የሰጣችሁ ነው፡፡ የአላህንም ጻጋ ብትቆጥሩ አትዘልቋትም፡፡ ሰው በጣም በደለኛ ከሓዲ ነው፡፡
(34) And He gave you of all that you have asked for. If you try to count the blessings of Allah, you cannot count them. Indeed, mankind is truly unjust and ungrateful.
(35) ኢብራሂምም ባለ ጊዜ (አስታውስ) «ጌታዬ ሆይ! ይህንን አገር (መካን) ጸጥተኛ አድርገው፡፡ እኔንም ልጆቼንም ጣዖታትን ከመገዛት አርቀን፡፡
(35) And [remember] when Abraham said, “My Lord, make this city [of Makkah] secure, and save me and my children from worshiping idols.
(36) «ጌታዬ ሆይ! እነርሱ (ጣዖታት) ከሰዎች ብዙዎችን አሳስተዋልና፡፡ የተከተለኝም ሰው እርሱ ከኔ ነው፡፡ ትእዛዜንም የጣሰ ሰው አንተ መሓሪ አዛኝ ነህ፡፡
(36) My Lord, they have led many people astray. So whoever follows me, he belongs to me; and whoever disobeys me, then You are All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(37) «ጌታችን ሆይ! እኔ አዝመራ በሌለው ሸለቆ ውስጥ በተከበረው ቤት (በካዕባ) አጠገብ ከዘሮቼ አስቀመጥኩ፡፡ ጌታችን ሆይ! ሶላትን ያቋቁሙ ዘንድ (አስቀመጥኳቸው)፡፡ ከሰዎችም ልቦችን ወደእነሱ የሚናፍቁ አድርግ፡፡ ያመሰግኑህም ዘንድ ከፍሬዎች ስጣቸው፡፡
(37) Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the people’s hearts incline towards them, and provide for them fruits, so that they may be grateful.
(38) «ጌታችን ሆይ! አንተ የምንደብቀውንም የምንገልጸውንም ሁሉ በእርግጥ ታውቃለህ፡፡ በአላህም ላይ በምድርም በሰማይም ምንም ነገር አይደበቅም፡፡
(38) Our Lord, You know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing is hidden from Allah on earth or in the heaven.
(39) «ለእዚያ ከሽምግልና በኋላ ኢስማዒልን ኢስሐቅንም ለእኔ ለሰጠኝ አላህ ምሰጋና ይገባው፡፡ ጌታዬ ልመናን በእርግጥ ሰሚ ነውና፡፡
(39) All praise be to Allah Who has granted me in old age Ishmael and Isaac. Indeed, my Lord is the All-Hearing of prayers.
(40) «ጌታዬ ሆይ! ሰላትን አዘውትሬ የምሰግድ አድርገኝ፡፡ ከዘሮቼም (አድርግ)፡፡ ጌታችን ሆይ! ጸሎቴንም ተቀበለኝ፤
(40) My Lord, make me steadfast in prayer and those of my offspring. Our Lord, accept my supplication.
(41) «ጌታችን ሆይ! ለእኔም ለወላቼም ለምእመናንም ሁሉ ምርመራ በሚደረግበት ቀን ማር፡፡»
(41) Our Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the reckoning will take place.”
(42) አላህንም በደለኞች ከሚሠሩት ግፍ ዘንጊ አድርገህ አታስብ፡፡ የሚያቆያቸው ዓይኖች በእርሱ እስከሚፈጡበት ቀን ድረስ ብቻ ነው፡፡
(42) Never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do; He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror] –
(43) (ወደ ጠሪው መልአክ) ቸኳዮች ራሶቻቸውን አንጋጣጮች ኾነው (ዓይኖቻቸው ይፈጣሉ)፡፡ ዓይኖቻቸው ወደነርሱ አይመለሱም፡፡ ልቦቻቸውም ባዶዎች ናቸው፡፡
(43) rushing forward with their heads raised up, eyes not blinking and hearts void.
(44) ሰዎችንም ቅጣቱ የሚመጣባቸውን ቀን አስፈራራቸው፡፡ እነዚያም የበደሉት «ጌታችን ሆይ! ወደ ቅርበ ጊዜ ድረስ አቆየን፡፡ ጥሪህን እንቀበላለንና መልክተኞቹንም እንከተላለንና» ይላሉ፡፡ «ከአሁን በፊት (በምድረ ዓለም) ለእናንተ ምንም መወገድ የላችሁም በማለት የማላችሁ አልነበራችሁምን» (ይባላሉ)፡፡
(44) Warn people of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and the wrongdoers will say, “Our Lord, give us a little more time, so that we may respond to Your call and follow the messengers!” [They will be told], “Did you not swear before that you would never cease to exist?”
(45) «በእነዚያም ነፍሶቻቸውን በበደሉት ሰዎች መኖሪያ ውስጥ ተቀመጣችሁ፡፡ በእነሱም እንዴት እንደሠራንባቸው ለእናንተ ተገለጸላችሁ፡፡ ለእናንተም ምሳሌዎችን ገለጽንላችሁ፡፡»
(45) You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it became clear to you how We dealt with them, and We gave you examples.”
(46) (በነቢዩ ላይ) ሴራቸውንም በእርግጥ አሴሩ፡፡ ሴራቸውም (ቅጣቱ) አላህ ዘንድ ነው፡፡ ሴራቸውም ኮረብታዎች (ሕግጋቶች) በእርሱ የሚወገዱበት አልነበረም፡፡
(46) They hatched their plot, but their plot was known to Allah; even if their plot were such that would move mountains.
(47) አላህንም መልክተኞቹን (የገባላቸውን) ቃል ኪዳኑን አፍራሽ አድርገህ አታስብ፡፡ አላህ አሸናፊ የመበቀል ባለቤት ነው፡፡
(47) Never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Allah is All-Mighty, Capable of Retribution.
(48) ምድር በሌላ ምድር የምትለወጥበትን ሰማያትም (እንደዚሁ) አንድ አሸናፊ ለኾነው አላህም (ፍጡራን ሁሉ) የሚገለጹበት ቀን (አስታውሱ)፡፡
(48) The Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will the heavens, and all will appear before Allah, the One, the Subjugator.
(49) አመጸኞችንም በዚያ ቀን በሰንሰለቶች ተቆራኝተው ታያቸዋለህ፡፡
(49) On that Day you will see the wicked bound together in chains,
(50) ቀሚሶቻቸው ከካትራም ናቸው፡፡ ፊቶቻቸውንም እሳት ትሸፍናቸዋለች፡፡
(50) their garments will be of pitch and their faces covered with Fire.
(51) አላህ ነፍስን ሁሉ የሠራችውን ይመነዳ ዘንድ (ይህንን አደረገ)፡፡ አላህ ምርመራው ፈጣን ነው፡፡
(51) So that Allah may recompense every soul for what it did. Allah is swift in reckoning.
(52) ይህ (ቁርኣን) ለሰዎች ገላጭ ነው፡፡ (ሊመከሩበት)፣ በእርሱም ሊስፈራሩበት፣ እርሱም አንድ አምላክ ብቻ መኾኑን ሊያውቁበት፣ የአእምሮ ባለቤቶችም ሊገሰፁበት (የተወረደ) ነው፡፡
(52) This [Qur’an] is a message for all mankind, so that they may be warned thereby and know that He is One God, and so that the people of understanding may take heed.
