| (1) እኛ (ቁርኣኑን) በመወሰኛይቱ ሌሊት አወረድነው፡፡ |
(1) Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down on the Night of Decree. |
| (2) መወሰኛይቱም ሌሊተ ምን እንደ ኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ? |
(2) How do you know what the Night of Decree is? |
| (3) መወሰኛይቱ ሌሊት ከሺሕ ወር በላጭ ናት፡፡ |
(3) The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. |
| (4) በርሷ ውስጥ መላእክትና መንፈሱ በጌታቸው ፈቃድ በነገሩ ሁሉ ይወርዳሉ፡፡ |
(4) On that night the angels and the Spirit [Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees. |
| (5) እርስዋ እስከ ጎህ መውጣት ድረስ ሰላም ብቻ ናት፡፡ |
(5) It is all peace until the break of dawn. |
