85 – Al-Burooj
| (1) የቡርጆች ባለቤት በኾነችው ሰማይ እምላለሁ፡፡ | (1) By the sky full of constellations, |
| (2) በተቀጠረው ቀንም፤ | (2) and by the promised Day, |
| (3) በተጣጅና በሚጣዱትም፤ (እምላለሁ)፡፡ | (3) and by the witness and the witnessed, |
| (4) የጉድቡ ባለቤቶች ተረገሙ፡፡ | (4) cursed be the makers of the trench, |
| (5) የማገዶ ባለቤት የኾነቺው እሳት (ባለቤቶች)፡፡ | (5) the fire full of fuel, |
| (6) እነርሱ በርሷ (አፋፍ) ላይ ተቀማጮች በኾኑ ጊዜ፤ (ተረገሙ)፡፡ | (6) when they sat around it, |
| (7) እነርሱም በምእምናኖቹ በሚሠሩት (ማሰቃየት) ላይ መስካሪዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (7) and were witnessing what they did to the believers. |
| (8) ከእነርሱም በአላህ አሸናፊው፣ ምስጉኑ በኾነው (ጌታ) ማመናቸውን እንጅ ሌላ ምንም አልጠሉም፡፡ | (8) Their only grievance against them was that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy, |
| (9) በእዚያ የሰማያትና የምድር ንግሥና ለእርሱ ብቻ በኾነው (አላህ ማመናቸውን)፡፡ አላህም በነገሩ ሁሉ ላይ መስካሪ ነው፡፡ | (9) to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and earth, and Allah is Witness over all things. |
| (10) እነዚያ ምእምንንና ምእምናትን ያሰቃዩ፣ ከዚያም ያልተጸጸቱ ለእነርሱ የገሀነም ቅጣት አልላቸው፡፡ ለእነርሱም የመቃጠሉ ስቃይ አልላቸው፡፡ | (10) Indeed, for those who tortured the believing men and women, then did not repent, there will be the punishment of Hell and the punishment of the burning fire. |
| (11) እነዚያ ያመኑና መልካም ሥራዎችንም የሠሩ ለእነርሱ ከሥሮቻቸው ወንዞች የሚፈሱባቸው ገነቶች አሏቸው፡፡ ይህ ታላቅ ማግኘት ነው፡፡ | (11) But those who believed and did righteous deeds will certainly have gardens under which rivers flow; that is the supreme triumph. |
| (12) የጌታህ በኀይል መያዝ ብርቱ ነው፡፡ | (12) Indeed, the punishment of your Lord is severe. |
| (13) እነሆ እርሱ መፍጠርን ይጀምራል፤ ይመልሳልም፡፡ | (13) Indeed, it is He Who originates [the creation] then repeats it, |
| (14) እርሱም ምሕረተ ብዙ ወዳድ ነው፡፡ | (14) and He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Affectionate, |
| (15) የዙፋኑ ባለቤት የላቀው ነው፡፡ | (15) the Lord of the Glorious Throne; |
| (16) የሚሻውን ሁሉ ሠሪ ነው፡፡ | (16) He does whatever He wills. |
| (17) የሰራዊቶቹ ወሬ መጣልህን? | (17) Has there not come to you the story of the forces |
| (18) የፈርዖንና የሰሙድ፤ (ወሬ)፡፡ | (18) of Pharaoh and Thamūd? |
| (19) በእውነቱ እነዚያ የካዱት በማስተባበል ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (19) But the disbelievers are in persistent denial, |
| (20) አላህም በዙሪያቸው (በዕውቀቱ) ከባቢ ነው፡፡ | (20) although Allah encompasses them from all sides. |
| (21) ይልቁንም እርሱ የከበረ ቁርኣን ነው፡፡ | (21) But this is a glorious Qur’an, |
| (22) የተጠበቀ በኾነ ሰሌዳ ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (22) [inscribed] in a Preserved Tablet. |
