53 – An-Najm
| (1) በኮከብ እምላለሁ በወደቀ (በገባ) ጊዜ፡፡ | (1) By the star when it sets, |
| (2) ነቢያችሁ (ሙሐመድ) አልተሳሳተም፤ አልጠመመምም፡፡ | (2) Your companion [the Prophet] has neither strayed nor is he deluded. |
| (3) ከልብ ወለድም አይናገርም፡፡ | (3) Nor does he speak out of his own desire. |
| (4) እርሱ (ንግግሩ) የሚወርረድ ራእይ እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡ | (4) It is but a revelation sent down [to him]. |
| (5) ኀይሎቹ ብርቱው (መልአክ) አስተማረው፡፡ | (5) He was taught by [an angel of] mighty power, |
| (6) የዕውቀት ባለቤት የኾነው (አስተማረው፤ በተፈጥሮ ቅርጹ ኾኖ በአየር ላይ) ተደላደለም፡፡ | (6) and of great perfection, who manifested himself [in his true form] |
| (7) እርሱ በላይኛው አድማስ ኾኖ፡፡ | (7) when he was on the higher horizon. |
| (8) ከዚያም ቀረበ፤ ወረደም፡፡ | (8) Then he approached [the Prophet] and descended, |
| (9) (ከእርሱ) የሁለት ደጋኖች ጫፍ ያህል ወይም (ከዚህ) ይበልጥ የቀረበ ኾነም፡፡ | (9) until he was only two bow-lengths away or even closer. |
| (10) ወደ ባሪያውም (አላህ) ያወረደውን አወረደ፡፡ | (10) Then he revealed to His slave what he had to reveal. |
| (11) (ነቢዩም በዓይኑ) ያየውን ልቡ አልዋሸም፡፡ | (11) The [Prophet’s] heart did not deny what he saw. |
| (12) ታዲያ በሚያየው ላይ ትከራከሩታላችሁን? | (12) Do you dispute with him concerning what he saw? |
| (13) በሌላይቱም መውረድ ጊዜ በእርግጥ አይቶታል፡፡ | (13) He certainly saw him a second time |
| (14) በመጨረሻይቱ ቁርቁራ አጠገብ፤ | (14) at the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary [in the seventh heaven] |
| (15) እርሷ ዘንድ መኖሪያይቱ ገነት ያለች ስትኾን፡፡ | (15) near which is the Garden of Abode, |
| (16) ቁርቁራይቱን የሚሸፍን ነገር በሚሸፍናት ጊዜ (አየው)፡፡ | (16) when the Lote Tree was overwhelmed with [divine] splendors. |
| (17) ዓይኑ (ካየው) አልተዘነበለም፡፡ ወሰንም አላለፈም፡፡ | (17) His gaze did not wander, nor did it look beyond the limit. |
| (18) ከጌታው ታምራቶች ታላላቆቹን በእርግጥ አየ፡፡ | (18) He certainly saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord. |
| (19) አል-ላትንና አል-ዑዛን አያችሁን? | (19) Have you [O disbelievers] thought about [the idols of] al-Lāt and al-‘Uzzā, |
| (20) ሦስተኛይቱንም አነስተኛዋን መናትን (አያችሁን? የምትግገዟቸው ኃይል አላቸውን?) | (20) and Manāt, the third one as well? |
| (21) ለእናንተ ወንድ ለእርሱም ሴት (ልጅ) ይኖራልን? | (21) Do you choose for yourselves males and for Him females? |
| (22) ይህቺ ያን ጊዜ አድላዊ ክፍያ ናት፡፡ | (22) That is then an unfair division! |
| (23) እነርሱ እናንተና አባቶቻችሁ (አማልክት ብላችሁ) የጠራችኋቸው ስሞች ብቻ እንጅ ምንም አይደሉም፡፡ አላህ በእርሷ (መግገዛት) ምንም ማስረጃ አላወረደም፡፡ ከጌታቸውም መምሪያ የመጣላቸው ሲኾኑ ጥርጣሬንና ነፍሶች የሚዘነበሉበትን እንጅ ሌላ አይከተሉም፡፡ | (23) These [idols] are no more than names you and your forefathers have made up, for which Allah has not sent down any authority. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their souls desire, although there has come to them guidance from their Lord. |
| (24) ለሰው የተመኘው ሁሉ አለውን? | (24) Is it that man can get whatever he wishes for? |
| (25) መጨረሻይቱም መጀመሪያይቱም (ዓለም) የአላህ ብቻ ናቸው፡፡ | (25) Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and this world. |
| (26) በሰማያት ውስጥ ካለ መልአክም ብዙዎች (ሊማለዱለት) ለሚሻውና ለሚወደው ሰው ከፈቀደ በኋላ ቢኾን እንጅ ምልጃቸው ምንም አትጠቅምም፡፡ | (26) How many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will be of no avail except after Allah’s permission to whom He wills and pleases. |
| (27) እነዚያ በመጨረሻይቱ ዓለም የማያምኑት መላእክትን በሴት አጠራር ይጠራሉ፡፡ | (27) Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter give the angels female names. |
| (28) ለእነርሱም በእርሱ ምንም ዕውቀት የላቸውም፡፡ ጥርጣሬን እንጅ ሌላን አይከተሉም፡፡ ጥርጣሬም ከእውነት ምንም አያብቃቃም፡፡ | (28) They have no knowledge about it. They only follow conjecture, but conjecture is of no avail against the truth. |
| (29) ከግሣጼያችንም (ከቁርኣን) ከሸሸና አነስተኛይቱን ሕይወት እንጅ ሌላን ከማይሻ ሰው ዙር (ተወው)፡፡ | (29) So pay no heed to those who turn away from Our message and who only seek the life of this world. |
| (30) ይህ (አነስተኛይቱን ሕይወት መምረጥ) ከዕውቀት ድካቸው ነው፡፡ ጌታህ እርሱ ከመንገዱ የተሳሳተውን በእርግጥ ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ እርሱም የቀናውን ሰው ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ | (30) That is the limit of their knowledge. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His Way, and He knows best who is guided. |
| (31) በሰማያት ያለውና በምድር ያለው ሁሉ የአላህ ነው፡፡ እነዚያን ያጠፉትን በሠሩት ሊቀጣ እነዚያን ያሳመሩትንም በመልካሚቱ (ገነት) ሊመነዳ (የጠመመውንና የቀናውን ያውቃል)፡፡ | (31) To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, so that He may recompense the evildoers for what they did, and reward those who do good with the best reward, |
| (32) (እነርሱ) እነዚያ የኃጢኣትን ታላለቆችና አስጸያፊዎቹን የሚርቁ ናቸው፡፡ ግን ትናንሾቹ የሚማሩ ናቸው፡፡ ጌታህ ምሕረተ ሰፊ ነውና፡፡ ከምድር በፈጠራችሁ ጊዜ እናንተም በእናቶቻችሁ ሆዶች ውስጥ ሽሎች በኾናችሁ ጊዜ እርሱ በናንተ (ኹነታ) ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ ነፍሶቻችሁንም አታወድሱ እርሱ የሚፈራውን ሰው ዐዋቂ ነው፡፡ | (32) those who avoid major sins and shameful acts, except for minor lapses. Indeed, your Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you best, as He created you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim purity for yourselves, for He knows best who is truly righteous. |
| (33) ያንን (ከእምነት) የዞረውን አየህን? | (33) Have you seen the one who turned away [from Islam], |
| (34) ጥቂትን የሰጠውንና ያቋረጠውንም (አየህን?) | (34) who gave a little, and then stopped? |
| (35) የሩቁ ምስጢር ዕውቀት እርሱ ዘንድ አልለን? ስለዚህ እርሱ ያያልን? | (35) Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he has insight? |
| (36) ይልቁንም በዚያ በሙሳ ጽሑፎች ውስጥ ባለው ነገር አልተነገረምን? | (36) Or has he not been informed of what is in the Scriptures of Moses, |
| (37) በዚያም (የታዘዘውን) በፈጸመው በኢብራሂም (ጽሑፎች ውስጥ ባለው አልተነገረምን?) | (37) and of Abraham, who fulfilled his duty? |
| (38) (እርሱም ኃጢያት) ተሸካሚ ነፍስ የሌላይቱን ነፍስ ኃጢኣት አትሸከምም፡፡ | (38) That no bearer of burden will bear the burden of another, |
| (39) ለሰውም ሁሉ የሠራው እንጅ ሌላ የለውም፡፡ | (39) and that man will not receive except what he strives for, |
| (40) ሥራውም ሁሉ ወደ ፊት ይታያል፡፡ | (40) and that his efforts will be examined, |
| (41) ከዚያም ሙሉውን ምንዳ ይመነዳዋል፡፡ | (41) then he will be recompensed in full, |
| (42) መጨረሻውም ወደ ጌታህ ብቻ ነው፡፡ | (42) and that to your Lord is the final return, |
| (43) እነሆ እርሱም አስሳቀ፣ አስለቀሰም፡፡ | (43) and that He is the One Who makes people laugh and weep, |
| (44) እነሆ እርሱም ገደለ፣ አስነሳም፡፡ | (44) and that He is the One Who causes death and gives life, |
| (45) እርሱም ሁለቱን ዓይነቶች ወንድንና ሴትን ፈጠረ፡፡ | (45) and that He created the pairs, male and female, |
| (46) ከፍትወት ጠብታ (በማህጸን ውስጥ) በምትፈሰስ ጊዜ፡፡ | (46) from an emitted drop of sperm, |
| (47) የኋለኛይቱም ማስነሳት በእርሱ ላይ ነው፡፡ | (47) and it is upon Him to bring about the second creation. |
| (48) እነሆ እርሱም አከበረ፣ ጥሪተኛም አደረገ፡፡ | (48) And He is the One Who enriches and bestows wealth, |
| (49) እነሆ እርሱም የሺዕራ ጌታ ነው፡፡ | (49) and that He is the Lord of Sirius [a star worshiped before Islam]. |
| (50) እነሆ እርሱም የፊተኛይቱን ዓድ አጥፍቷል፡፡ | (50) And that He destroyed the earlier ‘Ād [people of Hūd], |
| (51) ሰሙድንም (አጥፍቷል)፤ አላስቀረምም፡፡ | (51) and Thamūd [people of Sālih], sparing none, |
| (52) በፊትም የኑሕን ሕዝቦች (አጥፍቷል)፡፡ እነርሱ በጣም በደለኞችና እጅግ የጠመሙ እነርሱ ነበሩና፡፡ | (52) and [He destroyed] the people of Noah before them; they were indeed more wicked and more rebellious. |
| (53) የተገለበጠችውንም ከተማ ደፋ፡፡ | (53) And He toppled the cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] upside down, |
| (54) ያለበሳትንም አለበሳት፡፡ | (54) and they were utterly covered [by stones]. |
| (55) ከጌታህም ጸጋዎች በየትኛው ትጠራጠራለህ? | (55) Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? |
| (56) ይህ ከፊተኞቹ አስፈራሪዎች (ጎሳ) የኾነ አስፈራሪ ነው፡፡ | (56) This [Prophet] is a warner like the earlier warners. |
| (57) ቀራቢይቱ (ኅልፈተ ዓለም) ቀረበች፡፡ | (57) The imminent Hour has drawn near, |
| (58) ለእርሷ ከአላህ ሌላ ገላጭ የላትም፡፡ | (58) none but Allah can disclose it. |
| (59) ከዚህ ንግግር ትደነቃላችሁን? | (59) Do you find this discourse astonishing, |
| (60) ትስቃላችሁምን? አታለቅሱምን? | (60) and you laugh [at it] and not weep, |
| (61) እናንተም ዘንጊዎች ናችሁ፡፡ | (61) while persisting in heedlessness? |
| (62) ለአላህም ስገዱ ተገዙትም፡፡ | (62) So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. |
