80 – Abasa
| (1) ፊቱን አጨፈገገ፤ ዞረም፡፡ | (1) He frowned and turned away, |
| (2) ዕውሩ ስለ መጣው፡፡ | (2) when the blind man came to him. |
| (3) ምን ያሳውቅሃል? (ከኀጢአቶቹ) ሊጥራራ ይከጀላል፡፡ | (3) How would you know? Perhaps he might be purified, |
| (4) ወይም ሊገሠጽ ግሠጼይቱም ልትጠቅመው (ይከጀላል)፡፡ | (4) or he might take heed and benefit from the reminder? |
| (5) የተብቃቃው ሰውማ፤ | (5) But he who was indifferent, |
| (6) አንተ ለእርሱ (ለእምነቱ በመጓጓት) በፈገግታ ትቀበለዋለህ፡፡ | (6) you give him your full attention, |
| (7) ባይጥራራ (ባያምን) ባንተ ላይ ምንም የሌለብህ ስትኾን፡፡ | (7) although you are not to be blamed if he does not purify himself. |
| (8) እየገሰገሰ የመጣህ ሰውማ፤ | (8) But as for the one who came to you striving [for purification], |
| (9) እርሱ (አላህን) የሚፈራ ሲኾን፤ | (9) and he fears Allah, |
| (10) አንተ ከእርሱ ትዝዘናጋለህ፡፡ | (10) you let yourself to be distracted from him. |
| (11) ተከልከል፡፡ እርሷ ማስገንዘቢያ ናት፡፡ | (11) No indeed; this is a reminder – |
| (12) የሻም ሰው (ቁርኣኑን) ያስታውሰዋል፡፡ | (12) so whoever wills may give heed to it – |
| (13) በተከበሩ ጽሑፎች ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (13) on venerable pages, |
| (14) ከፍ በተደረገች ንጹሕ በተደረገች (ጽሑፍ ውስጥ ነው)፡፡ | (14) exalted and purified, |
| (15) በጸሐፊዎቹ (መላእክት) እጆች (ንጹሕ የተደረገች)፡፡ | (15) [preserved] in the hands of angel-scribes, |
| (16) የተከበሩና ታዛዦች በኾኑት (ጸሐፊዎች እጆች)፡፡ | (16) honorable and obedient. |
| (17) ሰው ተረገመ፤ ምን ከሓዲ አደረገው? | (17) Woe to man; how ungrateful he is! |
| (18) (ጌታው) በምን ነገር ፈጠረው? (አያስብምን?) | (18) From what did He create him? |
| (19) ከፍትወት ጠብታ ፈጠረው፤ መጠነውም፡፡ | (19) He created him from a drop of semen and proportioned him, |
| (20) ከዚያም (መውጫ) መንገዱን አገራው፡፡ | (20) then He made the way easy for him; |
| (21) ከዚያም ገደለው፤ እንዲቀበርም አደረገው፡፡ | (21) then He caused him to die and be buried; |
| (22) ከዚያም (ማንሳቱን) በሻ ጊዜ ያስነሳዋል፡፡ | (22) then when He wills, He will resurrect him. |
| (23) በእውነት ያንን (ጌታው) ያዘዘውን ገና አልፈጸመም፡፡ | (23) Yet he has not fulfilled what He commanded him. |
| (24) ሰውም ወደ ምግቡ ይመልከት፡፡ | (24) Let man consider the food he eats: |
| (25) እኛ ውሃን ማንቧቧትን ያንቧቧን መኾናችንን፡፡ | (25) How We poured down rainwater in torrents, |
| (26) ከዚያም ምድርን (በደካማ ቡቃያ) መሰንጠቅን የሰነጠቅን፤ | (26) and caused the soil to split open [for sprouts], |
| (27) በውስጧም እኽልን ያበቀልን፤ | (27) and cause grains to grow in it, |
| (28) ወይንንም፤ እርጥብ ያበቀልን፤ | (28) as well as grapes and fodder, |
| (29) የዘይት ወይራንም ዘንባባንም፤ | (29) and olive trees and date palms, |
| (30) ጭፍቆች አትክልቶችንም፤ | (30) and dense orchards, |
| (31) ፍራፍሬንም ገለባንም፤ (ያበቀልን መኾናችንን ይመልከት)፡፡ | (31) and fruits and grass, |
| (32) ለእናንተም ለእንስሶቻችሁም መጠቀሚያ ይኾን ዘንድ (ይህን ሠራን)፡፡ | (32) as provision for you and your livestock. |
| (33) አደንቋሪይቱም (መከራ) በመጣች ጊዜ፤ | (33) But when the Deafening Blast comes, |
| (34) ሰው ከወንድሙ በሚሸሽበት ቀን፤ | (34) on that Day everyone will flee from his sibling, |
| (35) ከናቱም ካባቱም፤ | (35) and from his mother and father, |
| (36) ከሚስቱም ከልጁም፤ | (36) and from his wife and children. |
| (37) ከእነርሱ ለየሰው ሁሉ በዚያ ቀን (ከሌላው) የሚያብቃቃው ኹነታ አልለው፡፡ | (37) On that day, everyone will have enough concern of his own. |
| (38) ፊቶች በዚያ ቀን አብሪዎች ናቸው፤ | (38) On that Day, some faces will be bright, |
| (39) ሳቂዎችም ተደሳቾችም ናቸው፡፡ | (39) cheerful and rejoicing; |
| (40) ፊቶችም በዚያ ቀን በላያቸው ላይ ትቢያ አልለባቸው፤ | (40) while other faces will be dust-stained, |
| (41) ጥቁረት ትሸፍናቸዋለች፤ | (41) covered in darkness. |
| (42) እነዚያ እነሱ ከሓዲዎቹ አመጸኞቹ ናቸው፡፡ | (42) Such are the disbelievers, the wicked. |
