26 – Ash-Shu’araa
| (1) ጠ.ሰ.መ. (ጧ ሲን ሚም)፡፡ | (1) Tā sīn mīm. |
| (2) ይህች ግልጽ ከኾነው መጽሐፍ አንቀጾች ናት፡፡ | (2) These are the verses of the clear Book. |
| (3) አማኞች ባለመኾናቸው፤ (በቁጭት) ነፍስህን ገዳይ መኾን ይፈራልሃል፡፡ | (3) Perhaps you will grieve yourself to death because they do not believe. |
| (4) ብንሻ በእነሱ ላይ ከሰማይ ተዓምረን እናወርድና አንገቶቻቸው (መሪዎቻቸው) ለእርሷ ተዋራጆች ይኾናሉ፡፡ | (4) If We willed, We could send down upon them a sign from the heaven, at which their necks would stay bowed in humility. |
| (5) ከአልረሕማንም ዘንድ ኣዲስ የተወረደ ቁርኣን አይመጣላቸውም፤ ከእርሱ የሚሸሹ ቢኾኑ እንጂ፡፡ | (5) No new reminder comes to them from the Most Compassionate except that they turn away from it. |
| (6) በእርግጥም አስተባበሉ፡፡ የዚያም በእርሱ ይሳለቁበት የነበሩት ወሬዎች (ፍጻሜ) ይመጣባቸዋል፡፡ | (6) They have rejected [the Truth], soon there will come to them the consequences of their ridicule. |
| (7) ወደ ምድርም በውስጧ ከመልካም (በቃይ) ጎሳ ሁሉ ብዙን እንዳበቀልን አላዩምን፡፡ | (7) Do they not see the earth, how many fine kinds of plants We grow in it? |
| (8) በዚህ አስደናቂ ምልክት አልለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም አማኞች አልነበሩም፡፡ | (8) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them will not believe. |
| (9) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊ አዛኝ ነው፡፡ | (9) Your Lord is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (10) ጌታህም ሙሳን «ወደ በደለኞቹ ሕዝቦች ኺድ» በማለት በጠራው ጊዜ (አስታውስ)፡፡ | (10) And [remember] when your Lord called out to Moses, “Go to the wrongdoing people – |
| (11) «ወደ ፈርዖን ሕዝቦች (ኺድ) አላህን አይፈሩምን» (አለው)፡፡ | (11) the people of Pharaoh; will they not fear [the punishment of] Allah?” |
| (12) (ሙሳም) አለ «ጌታዬ ሆይ! እኔ ሊያስተባብሉኝ እፈራለሁ፡፡ | (12) He said, “My Lord, I fear that they may reject me, |
| (13) «ልቤም ይጠብባል፡፡ ምላሴም አይፈታም፡፡ ስለዚህ ወደ ሃሩን ላክ፡፡ | (13) and I will feel distressed and my tongue will not be fluent, so send Aaron along [to help me]. |
| (14) «ለእነርሱም በእኔ ላይ (የደም) ወንጀል አልለ፡፡ ስለዚህ እንዳይገድሉኝ እፈራለሁ፡፡» | (14) Moreover, they have a charge against me, so I fear they may kill me.” |
| (15) (አላህ) አለ «ተው! (አይነኩህም)፡፡ በተዓምራቶቻችንም ኺዱ፡፡ እኛ ከእናንተ ጋር ሰሚዎች ነንና፡፡ | (15) Allah said, “Certainly not! Go, both of you, with Our signs; We are with you, listening. |
| (16) «ወደ ፈርዖንም ኺዱ፡፡ በሉትም፡- እኛ የዓለማት ጌታ መልክተኞች ነን፡፡ | (16) Go to Pharaoh and say, ‘We are the messengers from the Lord of the worlds, |
| (17) «የእስራኤልን ልጆች ከእኛ ጋር ልቀቅ፡፡» | (17) that you let the Children of Israel go with us.’” |
| (18) (ፈርዖንም) አለ «ልጅ ኾነህ በእኛ ውስጥ አላሳደግንህምን በእኛ ውስጥም ከዕድሜህ ብዙ ዓመታትን አልተቀመጥክምን | (18) Pharaoh said, “Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you stayed with us several years of your life? |
| (19) «ያችንም የሠራሃትን ሥራህን አልሠራህምን አንተም ከውለታ ቢሶቹ ነህ» (አለ)፡፡ | (19) Yet you did what you did, and you are extremely ungrateful.” |
| (20) (ሙሳም) አለ «ያን ጊዜ እኔም ከተሳሳቱት ኾኜ ሠራኋት፡፡ | (20) He said, “I did it when I had no guidance. |
| (21) «በፈራኋችሁም ጊዜ ከእንናተ ሸሸሁ፡፡ ጌታየም ለእኔ ጥበብን ሰጠኝ፡፡ ከመልክተኞቹም አደረገኝ፡፡ | (21) So I fled from you in fear. Then my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. |
| (22) «ይህችም የእስራኤልን ልጆች ባሪያ በማድረግህ በእኔ ላይ የምትመጻደቅባት ጸጋ ነት፡፡» | (22) Is this a favor that you remind me with, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel? |
| (23) ፈርዖን አለ «(ላከኝ የምትለው) የዓለማትም ጌታ ምንድነው» | (23) Pharaoh said, “What is ‘the Lord of the worlds’?” |
| (24) (ሙሳ) «የሰማያትና የምድር በመካከላቸውም ያለው ሁሉ ጌታ ነው፡፡ የምታረጋግጡ ብትኾኑ (ነገሩ ይህ ነው)፤» አለው፡፡ | (24) Moses said, “The Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, if only you had sure faith.” |
| (25) (ፈርዖንም) በዙሪያው ላሉት ሰዎች «አትሰሙምን» አለ፡፡ | (25) Pharaoh said to those around him, “Did you hear [what he just said]?” |
| (26) (ሙሳ) «ጌታችሁና የመጀመሪያዎቹ አባቶቻችሁም ጌታ ነው» አለው፡፡ | (26) Moses said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.” |
| (27) (ፈርዖን) | (27) Pharaoh said, “Your messenger who has been sent to you is truly insane!” |
| (28) (ሙሳ) «የምሥራቅና የምዕራብ በመካከላቸውም ያለው ነገር ሁሉ ጌታ ነው፡፡ ታውቁ እንደኾናችሁ (እመኑበት)» አለው፡፡ | (28) Moses said, “Lord of the east and west and all that is between them, if only you had sense!” |
| (29) (ፈርዖን) «ከእኔ ሌላ አምላክን ብትይዝ በውነቱ ከእስረኞቹ አደርግሃለሁ» አለ፡፡ | (29) Pharaoh said, “If you take any god other than me, I will throw you into prison.” |
| (30) (ሙሳ) «በግልጽ አስረጅ ብመጣህም እንኳ» አለው፡፡ | (30) Moses said, “What if I bring you a clear proof?” |
| (31) «እንግዲያውስ ከእውነተኞች እንደኾንክ (አስረጁን) አምጣው» አለ፡፡ | (31) Pharaoh said, “Bring it then, if you are truthful!” |
| (32) በትሩንም ጣለ፡፡ እርሷም ወዲያውኑ ግልጽ እባብ ኾነች፡፡ | (32) So he threw down his staff, and suddenly it was a real serpent. |
| (33) እጁንም አወጣ፡፡ ወዲያውም እርሷ ለተመልካቾች (የምታበራ) ነጭ ኾነች፡፡ | (33) And he drew out his hand, and it was glowing white to the beholders. |
| (34) (ፈርዖን) በዙሪያው ላሉት መማክርት «ይህ በእርግጥ ዐዋቂ ድግምተኛ ነው» አለ፡፡ | (34) Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, “This is indeed a learned magician! |
| (35) «ከምድራችሁ በድግምቱ ሊያወጣችሁ ይፈልጋልና ምንን ታዛላችሁ» (አላቸው)፡፡ | (35) He wants to drive you out of your land with his magic. What do you suggest?” |
| (36) አሉት «እርሱን ወንድሙንም አቆይና በየከተሞቹ ሰብሳቢዎችን ላክ፡፡ | (36) They said, “Let him and his brother wait and dispatch heralds to the cities |
| (37) «በጣም ዐዋቂ ድግምተኞችን ሁሉ ያመጡልሃልና፡፡» | (37) to bring you every learned magician.” |
| (38) ድግምተኞቹም በታወቀ ቀን ቀጠሮ ተሰበሰቡ፡፡ | (38) So the magicians were assembled at an appointed time on a known day. |
| (39) ለሰዎቹም «እናንተ ተሰብስባችኋልን» ተባለ፡፡ | (39) And it was said to the people, “Will you join the gathering, |
| (40) «ድግምተኞቹን እነሱ አሸናፊዎች ቢኾኑ እንከተል ዘንድ» (ተባለ)፡፡ | (40) so that we may follow the magicians if they are victorious?” |
| (41) «ድግምተኞቹም በመጡ ጊዜ ለፈርዖን እኛ አሸናፊዎች ብንሆን ለእኛ በእርግጥ ዋጋ አለን» አሉት፡፡ | (41) When the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh, “Will there be a reward for us if we are victorious?” |
| (42) «አዎን፤ እናንተም ያን ጊዜ ከባለሟሎቹ ትኾናላችሁ» አላቸው፡፡ | (42) He said, “Yes, and then you will surely be of those who are close to me.” |
| (43) ሙሳ «ለእነርሱ እናንተ የምትጥሉትን ጣሉ» አላቸው፡፡ | (43) Moses said to them, “Throw whatever you wish to throw.” |
| (44) ገመዶቻቸውንና በትሮቻቸውንም ጣሉ፡፡ «በፈርዖንም ክብር ይኹንብን፡፡ እኛ በእርግጥ አሸናፊዎቹ እኛ ነን» አሉ፡፡ | (44) So they threw their ropes and staffs, and said, “By the glory of Pharaoh, it is we who will be the victorious!” |
| (45) ሙሳም በትሩን ጣለ፡፡ ወዲያውም እርሷ የሚያስመስሉትን ሁሉ ትውጣለች፡፡ | (45) Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it swallowed up all objects of their illusion. |
| (46) ድግምተኞቹም ሰጋጆች ኾነው ወደቁ፡፡ | (46) So the magicians fell down in prostration. |
| (47) (እነሱም) አሉ «በዓለማት ጌታ አመንን፡፡ | (47) They said, “We believe in the Lord of the worlds, |
| (48) «በሙሳና በሃሩን ጌታ፡፡» | (48) the Lord of Moses and Aaron.” |
| (49) (ፈርዖንም) «ለእናንተ ሳልፈቅድላችሁ በፊት ለእርሱ አመናችሁን እርሱ ያ ድግምትን ያስተማራችሁ ታላቃችሁ ነው፡፡ ወደፊትም (የሚያገኛችሁን) በእርግጥ ታውቃላችሁ፡፡ እጆቻችሁንና እግሮቻችሁን (ቀኝና ግራን) በማናጋት እቆረርጣለሁ፡፡ ሁላችሁንም እሰቅላችኋለሁም» አለ፡፡ | (49) Pharaoh said, “How dare you believe in him before I give you permission. Indeed, he is your master who taught you magic, but you will soon come to know. I will surely cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all.” |
| (50) (እነርሱም) አሉ «ጉዳት የለብንም፡፡ እኛ ወደ ጌታችን ተመላሾች ነን፡፡ | (50) They said, “No harm; we will surely return to our Lord. |
| (51) «እኛ የምእምናን መጀመሪያ በመኾናችን ጌታችን ኀጢአቶቻችንን ለእኛ ሊምር እንከጅላለን፡፡» | (51) We hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers.” |
| (52) ወደ ሙሳም «ባሮቼን ይዘህ ሌሊት ኺድ፡፡ እናንተ የሚከተሉዋችሁ ናችሁና» ስንል ላክን፡፡ | (52) We inspired Moses, “Leave with My slaves by night; you will surely be pursued.” |
| (53) ፈርዖንም በየከተሞቹ ሰብሳቢዎችን (እንዲህ ሲል) ላከ፡፡ | (53) So Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities, |
| (54) «እነዚህ ጥቂቶች ጭፈሮች ናቸው፡፡ | (54) saying, “These are but a small band, |
| (55) «እነርሱም ለእኛ አስቆጪዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (55) and they have enraged us, |
| (56) «እኛም ብዙዎች ጥንቁቆች ነን፤» (አለ)፡፡ | (56) but we are all well-prepared.” |
| (57) አወጣናቸውም፡፡ ከአትክልቶችና ከምንጮች፡፡ | (57) Thus did We drive them out of their gardens and springs, |
| (58) ከድልቦችም ከመልካም መቀመጫዎችም፡፡ | (58) and their treasures and splendid dwellings. |
| (59) እንደዚሁ ለእስራኤል ልጆች አወረስናትም፡፡ | (59) So it was; and We made the Children of Israel to inherit them. |
| (60) ፀሐይዋ ስትወጣም ተከተሉዋቸው፡፡ | (60) They pursued them at sunrise. |
| (61) ሁለቱ ጭፍሮችም በተያዩ ጊዜ የሙሳ ጓዶች «እኛ(የፈርዖን ሰዎች) የሚደርሱብን ነን» አሉ፡፡ | (61) When the two groups saw each other, the companions of Moses said, “We are surely overtaken!” |
| (62) (ሙሳ) «ተዉዉ! ጌታዬ ከእኔ ጋር ነው፡፡ በእርግጥ ይመራኛል» አለ፡፡ | (62) Moses said, “Certainly not! My Lord is with me; He will guide me.” |
| (63) ወደ ሙሳም «ባሕሩን በበትርህ ምታው» ስንል ላክንበት፡፡ (መታውና) ተከፈለም፡፡ ክፍሉም ሁሉ እንደ ታላቅ ጋራ ኾነ፡፡ | (63) Then We inspired Moses, “Strike the sea with your staff,” so it parted, each part became like a huge mountain. |
| (64) እዚያም ዘንድ ሌሎችን አቀረብን፡፡ | (64) Then We brought the others [pursuers] close to that place, |
| (65) ሙሳንም ከእርሱ ገር ያሉትንም ሰዎች ሁሉንም አዳን፡፡ | (65) and We saved Moses and all those who were with him, |
| (66) ከዚያም ሌሎቹን አሰጠምን፡፡ | (66) then We drowned the others. |
| (67) በዚህ ውስጥ ታላቅ ታምር አለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም አማኞች አልነበሩም፡፡ | (67) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (68) ጌታህም እርሱ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (68) Indeed, your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (69) በእነሱም (በሕዝቦችህ) ላይ የኢብራሂምን ወሬ አንብብላቸው፡፡ | (69) Relate to them the story of Abraham, |
| (70) ለአባቱና ለሕዝቦቹ «ምንን ትግገዛላችሁ» ባለ ጊዜ፡፡ | (70) when he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” |
| (71) «ጣዖታትን እንገዛለን፤ እርሷንም በመገዛት ላይ እንቆያለን» አሉ፡፡ | (71) They said, “We worship idols and remain devoted to them.” |
| (72) (እርሱም) አለ «በጠራችኋቸው ጊዜ ይሰሟችኋልን | (72) He said, “Do they hear you when you call upon them? |
| (73) «ወይስ ይጠቅሟችኋልን ወይስ ይጎዷችኋልን» | (73) Or can they benefit or harm you?” |
| (74) «የለም! አባቶቻችን እንደዚሁ ሲሠሩ አገኘን» አሉት፡፡ | (74) They said, “No, but this is what we found our forefathers doing.” |
| (75) «ትግገዙት የነበራችሁትን አስተዋላችሁን | (75) He said, “Do you see what you have been worshiping, |
| (76) «እናንተም የቀድሞዎቹ አባቶቻችሁም (የተግገዛችሁትን)፡፡» | (76) you and your ancestors? |
| (77) «እነሱም (ጣዖቶቹ) ለእኔ ጠላቶች ናቸው፡፡ ግን የዓለማት ጌታ ሲቀር (እርሱ ወዳጄ ነው)፡፡ | (77) Indeed, they are my enemies, except the Lord of the worlds, |
| (78) «(እርሱ) ያ የፈጠረኝ ነው፡፡ እርሱም ይመራኛል፡፡ | (78) Who created me, so He guides me; |
| (79) «ያም እርሱ የሚያበላኝና የሚያጠጣኝ ነው፡፡ | (79) and it is He Who provides me with food and drink; |
| (80) «በታመምኩም ጊዜ እርሱ ያሽረኛል፡፡ | (80) and when I am ill He heals me; |
| (81) «ያም የሚገድለኝ ከዚያም ሕያው የሚያደርገኝ ነው፡፡ | (81) and He will cause me to die then bring me back to life; |
| (82) ያም በፍርዱ ቀን ኀጢአቴን ለእኔ ሊምር የምከጅለው ነው፡፡ | (82) and I hope that He will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgment.” |
| (83) ጌታዬ ሆይ! ዕውቀትን ስጠኝ! በደጋጎቹም ሰዎች አስጠጋኝ፡፡ | (83) “My Lord, grant me knowledge, and join me with the righteous, |
| (84) በኋለኞቹም ሕዝቦች ውስጥ ለእኔ መልካም ዝናን አድርግልኝ፡፡ | (84) and grant me an honorable mention among the later generations, |
| (85) የጸጋይቱን ገነት ከሚወርሱትም አድርገኝ፡፡ | (85) and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss; |
| (86) ለአባቴም ማር፡፡ እርሱ ከተሳሳቱት ነበረና፡፡ | (86) and forgive my father, for he is one of those who have gone astray; |
| (87) በሚቀሰቀሱበት ቀንም አታዋርደኝ፡፡ | (87) and do not disgrace me on the Day when all will be resurrected – |
| (88) ገንዘብም ልጆችም በማይጠቅሙበት ቀን፡፡ | (88) the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail, |
| (89) ወደ አላህ በንጹህ ልብ የመጣ ሰው ቢኾን እንጅ፡፡» | (89) except the one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.” |
| (90) ገነትም ለፈሪዎች በምትቀረብበት (ቀን)፡፡ | (90) Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, |
| (91) ገሀነምም ለጠመሞች በምትገለጽበት (ቀን)፡፡ | (91) and Hellfire will be uncovered to those who went astray, |
| (92) ለእነሱም በሚባል ቀን «ትግገዟቸው የነበራችሁት የት ናቸው» | (92) and they will be told, “Where are those whom you used to worship |
| (93) «ከአላህ ሌላ ሲኾኑ ይረዱዋችኋልን ወይስ (ለራሳቸው) ይርረዳሉን» | (93) other than Allah? Can they help you or even help themselves?” |
| (94) በውስጧም እነሱና ጠማሞቹ በፊቶቻቸው ተጥለው ይንከባለላሉ፡፡ | (94) Then they will be hurled into Hell one upon another, along with those who led them astray, |
| (95) የሰይጣንም ሰራዊቶች መላውም (ይጣላሉ)፡፡ | (95) and the followers of Iblīs, all together. |
| (96) እነርሱም በእርሷ ውስጥ የሚከራከሩ ኾነው ይላሉ፡- | (96) There the deviants will say while quarreling with their false deities, |
| (97) በአላህ እንምላለን፤ እኛ በግልጽ መሳሳት ውስጥ ነበርን፡፡ | (97) “By Allah, we were clearly misguided, |
| (98) (ጣዖቶቹን) በዓለማት ጌታ ባስተካከልናችሁ ጊዜ፡፡ | (98) when we deemed you equal to the Lord of the worlds. |
| (99) አመጸኞቹም እንጅ ሌላ አላሳሳተንም፡፡ | (99) None led us astray except the wicked. |
| (100) ከአማላጆችም ለእኛ ምንም የለንም፡፡ | (100) Now we neither have any intercessors, |
| (101) አዛኝ ወዳጂም (የለንም)፡፡ | (101) nor a close friend. |
| (102) ለእኛም አንዲት ጊዜ መመለስ በኖረችንና ከአማኞቹ በኾን እንመኛለን (ይላሉ)፡፡ | (102) If only we had a chance to return, we would be among the believers.” |
| (103) በዚህ ውስጥ አስደናቂ ግሳጼ አልለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም አማኞች አልነበሩም፡፡ | (103) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (104) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (104) Your Lord is surely the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (105) የኑሕ ሕዝቦች መልክተኞችን አስተባበሉ፡፡ | (105) The people of Noah rejected the messengers |
| (106) ወንድማቸው ኑሕ ለእነሱ ባላቸው ጊዜ «አትጠነቀቁምን | (106) when their brother Noah said to them, “Do you not fear Allah? |
| (107) «እኔ ለእናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝ፡፡ | (107) I am a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (108) «አላህንም ፍሩ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (108) so fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (109) «በእርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አልጠይቃችሁም፡፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ | (109) I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; |
| (110) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡» | (110) so fear Allah, and obey me.” |
| (111) (እነርሱም) «ወራዶቹ የተከተሉህ ኾነህ ለአንተ እናምናለን» አሉት፡፡ | (111) They said, “Shall we believe in you when you are followed by the lowest people?” |
| (112) (እርሱም) አላቸው «ይሠሩት በነበሩት ነገር ምን ዕውቀት አለኝ፡፡ | (112) He said, “What knowledge do I have of what they do? |
| (113) «ምርመራቸው በጌታዬ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ ብታውቁ ኖሮ (ይህንን ትርረዱ ነበር)፡፡ | (113) Their reckoning is only with my Lord, if you realize! |
| (114) «እኔም አማኞችን አባራሪ አይደለሁም፡፡ | (114) I am not going to drive the believers away. |
| (115) «እኔ ግልጽ አስፈራሪ እንጅ ሌላ አይደለሁም፡፡» | (115) I am only a clear warner.” |
| (116) «ኑሕ ሆይ! (ከምትለው) ባትከለከል በእርግጥ ከሚወገሩት ትኾናለህ» አሉት፡፡ | (116) They said, “O Noah, if you do not desist, you will certainly be stoned.” |
| (117) (እርሱም) አለ «ጌታዬ ሆይ! ሕዝቦቼ አስተባበሉኝ፡፡ | (117) He said, “My Lord, my people have rejected me. |
| (118) «በእኔና በእነርሱም መካከል (ተገቢ) ፍርድን ፍረድ፡፡ አድነኝም፡፡ ከእኔ ጋር ያሉትንም ምእምናን፡፡» | (118) So judge between me and them decisively, and save me and the believers who are with me.” |
| (119) እርሱንም ከእርሱ ጋር ያለውንም ሁሉ በተመላው መርከብ ውስጥ አዳን፡፡ | (119) So We saved him and those who were with him in the fully laden Ark. |
| (120) ከዚያም በኋላ ቀሪዎቹን አሰጠምን፡፡ | (120) Then We drowned thereafter all the rest. |
| (121) በዚህ ውስጥ ታላቅ ግሳጼ አለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም አማኞች አልነበሩም፡፡ | (121) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (122) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (122) Indeed, your Lord is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (123) ዓድ መልክተኞችን አስተባበለች፡፡ | (123) The people of ‘Ād rejected the messengers |
| (124) ወንድማቸው ሁድ ለነርሱ ባላቸው ጊዜ «አትጠነቀቁምን | (124) when their brother Hūd said to them, “Will you not fear Allah? |
| (125) «እኔ ለናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝ፡፡ | (125) I am a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (126) «አላህንም ፍሩ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (126) so fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (127) «በእርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አለምናችሁም፡፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ | (127) I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds. |
| (128) «የምትጫወቱ ኾናችሁ በከፍተኛ ስፍራ ሁሉ ላይ ምልክትን ትገነባላችሁን | (128) Do you build a landmark on every high place for no purpose? |
| (129) «የውሃ ማጠራቀሚያዎችንና ሕንፃዎችንም ዘላለም መኖርን የምትከጅሉ ኾናችሁ ትሠራላችሁን | (129) And do you construct for yourselves palaces, hoping that you will live forever? |
| (130) «በቀጣችሁም ጊዜ ጨካኞች ኾናችሁ ትቀጣላችሁን | (130) And when you attack [others], do you attack ruthlessly? |
| (131) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (131) So fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (132) «ያንንም በምታውቁት (ጸጋ) ያጣቀማችሁን ፍሩ፡፡ | (132) And fear the One Who has provided you with everything you know: |
| (133) «በእንስሳዎችና በልጆች ያጣቀማችሁን፡፡ | (133) Who provided you with livestock and children, |
| (134) «በአትክልቶችና በምንጮችም፡፡ | (134) and with gardens and springs. |
| (135) «እኔ በእናንተ ላይ የታላቅን ቀን ቅጣት እፈራለሁና፡፡» | (135) I fear for you the punishment of a momentous day.” |
| (136) (እነርሱም) አሉ «ብትገስጽም ወይም ከገሳጮቹ ባትኾንም በእኛ ላይ እኩል ነው፤ (ያለንበትን አንለቅም)፡፡ | (136) They said, “It is the same to us whether you admonish us or not. |
| (137) «ይህ የፊተኞቹ ሰዎች ፀባይ እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡ | (137) This is nothing but the custom of the former people, |
| (138) «እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንም» (አሉ)፡፡ | (138) and we will never be punished.” |
| (139) አስተባበሉትም፡፡ አጠፋናቸውም፡፡ በዚህም ውስጥ እርግጠኛ ግሳጼ አለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም ምእመናን አልነበሩም፡፡ | (139) Thus they rejected him, so We destroyed them. Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe, |
| (140) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (140) Your Lord is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (141) ሰሙድ መልክተኞችን አስተባበለች፡፡ | (141) The people of Thamūd rejected the messengers |
| (142) ወንድማቸው ሷሊህ ለእነርሱ ባላቸው ጊዜ «አትጠነቀቁምን | (142) when their brother Sālih said to them, “Will you not fear Allah? |
| (143) «እኔ ለእናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝ፡፡ | (143) I am a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (144) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (144) so fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (145) «በእርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አልለምናችሁም፡፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ | (145) I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds. |
| (146) «በዚያ እዚህ ባለው (ጸጋ) ውስጥ የረካችሁ ኾናችሁ ትተዋላችሁን | (146) Will you be left secure in whatever you have here, |
| (147) «በአትክልቶችና በምንጮች ውስጥ፡፡ | (147) in gardens and springs, |
| (148) «በአዝመራዎችም ፍሬዋ የበሰለ በኾነች ዘንባባም፤ (ውስጥ ትተዋላችሁን) | (148) and in fields of crops and date-palms laden with tender fruit, |
| (149) «ብልሆች ኾናችሁ ከጋራዎች ቤቶችንም ትጠርባላችሁ፡፡ | (149) carving out houses in the mountains with great skill? |
| (150) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (150) So fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (151) «የወሰን አላፊዎችንም ትዕዛዝ አትከተሉ፡፡ | (151) And do not obey the command of the transgressors, |
| (152) «የእነዚያን በምድር ላይ የሚያጠፉትንና የማያበጁትን፡፡» | (152) those who spread corruption in the land and never do what is right.” |
| (153) (እነሱም) አሉ «አንተ በብዙ ከተደገመባቸው ሰዎች ብቻ ነህ፡፡ | (153) They said, “You are but one of those who are bewitched! |
| (154) «አንተ ብጤያችን ሰው እንጅ ሌላ አይደለህም፡፡ ከእውነተኞቹም እንደኾንክ ተዓምርን አምጣ፡፡» | (154) You are but a human like us, so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful.” |
| (155) (እርሱም) አለ «ይህች ግመል ናት፡፡ ለእርሷ የመጠጥ ፋንታ አላት፡፡ ለእናንተም የታወቀ ቀን ፋንታ አላችሁ፡፡ | (155) Sālih said, “This is a she-camel; she will have her share of water and you will have yours, each on a specified day. |
| (156) «በክፉም አትንኳት፡፡ የታላቅ ቀን ቅጣት ይይዛችኋልና፡፡» | (156) Do not touch her with harm, or you will be seized by the punishment of a horrible day.” |
| (157) ወጓትም፡፡ ወዲያውም ተጸጻቾች ኾነው አነጉ፡፡ | (157) But they hamstrung her, then they became regretful, |
| (158) ቅጣቱም ያዛቸው፡፡ በዚህም ውስጥ ግሳፄ አልለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም ምእመናን አልነበሩም፡፡ | (158) So the punishment seized them. Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (159) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (159) Your Lord is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (160) የሉጥ ሕዝቦች መልክተኞችን አስተባባሉ፡፡ | (160) The people of Lot rejected the messengers, |
| (161) ወንድማቸው ሉጥ ለእነርሱ ባለ ጊዜ «አትጠነቀቁምን | (161) when their brother Lot said to them, “Will you not fear Allah? |
| (162) «እኔ ለእናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝ፡፡ | (162) I am a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (163) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (163) so fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (164) «በእርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አልለምናችሁም፡፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ | (164) I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds. |
| (165) «ከዓለማት ሰዎች ወንዶችን ትመጣላችሁን | (165) Do you approach males with lust among all people, |
| (166) «ከሚስቶቻችሁም ጌታችሁ ለናንተ የፈጠረላችሁን ትተዋላችሁን በእውነቱ እናንተ ወሰን አላፊዎች ሕዝቦ ናችሁ፡፡» | (166) leaving the wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are but a transgressing people.” |
| (167) (እነርሱም) አሉ «ሉጥ ሆይ! ባትከለከል በእርግጥ (ከአገር) ከሚወጡት ትኾናለህ፡፡» | (167) They said, “O Lot, If you do not desist, you will surely be expelled.” |
| (168) (እርሱም) አለ «እኔ ሥራችሁን ከሚጠሉት ሰዎች ነኝ፡፡ | (168) Lot said, “I utterly abhor your practice. |
| (169) «ጌታዬ ሆይ! እኔንም ቤተሰቦቼንም ከሚሠሩት ሥራ (ቅጣት) አድነን፡፡» | (169) My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequences of] what they do.” |
| (170) እርሱንም ቤተሰቦቹንም በጠቅላላ አዳንናቸው፡፡ | (170) So We saved him and all his family, |
| (171) በቀሪዎቹ ውስጥ የኾነች አሮጊት ብቻ ስትቀር (እርሷ ጠፋች)፡፡ | (171) except an old woman who was among those who remained behind. |
| (172) ከዚያም ሌሎቹን አጠፋን፡፡ | (172) Then We destroyed the rest, |
| (173) በእነሱም ላይ (የድንጋይን) ዝናምን አዘነምንባቸው፡፡ የተስፈራሪዎቹም ዝናም (ምንኛ) ከፋ፡፡ | (173) and We poured down upon them a rain [of stones]. How terrible was the rain of those who were warned! |
| (174) በዚህ ውስጥ አስደናቂ ተዓምር አልለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም ምእመናን አልነበሩም፡፡ | (174) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (175) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (175) Your Lord is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (176) የአይከት ሰዎች መልክተኞችን አስተባበሉ፤ | (176) The people of the Forest rejected the messengers. |
| (177) ሹዕይብ ለእነርሱ ባላቸው ጊዜ «አትጠነቀቁምን | (177) When Shu‘ayb said to them, “Will you not fear Allah? |
| (178) «እኔ ለእናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝ፡፡ | (178) I am a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (179) «አላህንም ፍሩ፤ ታዘዙኝም፡፡ | (179) so fear Allah, and obey me. |
| (180) «በርሱም ላይ ምንም ዋጋ አልጠይቃችሁም፡፡ ዋጋዬ በዓለማት ጌታ ላይ እንጅ በሌላ ላይ አይደለም፡፡ | (180) I do not ask you for any reward for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds. |
| (181) «ስፍርን ሙሉ፡፡ ከአጉዳዮቹም አትኹኑ፡፡ | (181) Give full measure and do not be of those who defraud others, |
| (182) «በትክክለኛ ሚዛንም መዝኑ፡፡ | (182) and weigh with accurate scales, |
| (183) «ሰዎችንም ነገሮቻቸውን አታጉድሉባቸው፡፡ በምድርም ላይ አጥፊዎች ኾናችሁ አታበላሹ፡፡ | (183) and do not defraud people of their goods, nor go about in the land spreading corruption. |
| (184) «ያንንም የፈጠራችሁን የቀድሞዎቹንም ፍጡሮች (የፈጠረውን) ፍሩ፡፡» | (184) And fear the One Who created you and the former peoples.” |
| (185) አሉ «አንተ በብዛት ከተደገመባቸው ሰዎች ነህ፡፡ | (185) They said, “You are truly bewitched! |
| (186) «አንተም ብጤያችን ሰው እንጅ ሌላ አይደለህም፡፡ እነሆ ከውሸታሞች ነህ ብለን እንጠረጥርሃለን፡፡ | (186) You are only a human being like us, and we think you are nothing but a liar. |
| (187) «ከእውነተኞቹም እንደኾንክ በእኛ ላይ ከሰማይ ቁራጭን ጣልብን፡፡» | (187) So cause pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” |
| (188) «ጌታዬ የምትሠሩትን ሁሉ ዐዋቂ ነው፤» አላቸው፡፡ | (188) Shu‘ayb said, “My Lord knows best whatever you do.” |
| (189) አስተባበሉትም፡፡ የጥላይቷ ቀን ቅጣትም ያዛቸው፡፡ እርሱ የከባድ ቀን ቅጣት ነበርና፡፡ | (189) Thus they rejected him, so they were seized by the punishment of the cloudy day; it was the punishment of a horrible day. |
| (190) በዚህ ውስጥ አስደናቂ ተዓምር አልለበት፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም ምእምናን አልነበሩም፡፡ | (190) Indeed, there is a sign in this, yet most of them would not believe. |
| (191) ጌታህም እርሱ በእርግጥ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነው፡፡ | (191) Your Lord is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (192) እርሱም (ቁርኣን) በእርግጥ ከዓለማት ጌታ የተወረደ ነው፡፡ | (192) This is indeed a revelation from the Lord of the worlds, |
| (193) እርሱን ታማኙ መንፈስ (ጂብሪል) አወረደው፤ | (193) which the Trustworthy Spirit [Gabriel] has brought down |
| (194) ከአስፈራሪዎቹ (ነቢያት) ትኾን ዘንድ በልብህ ላይ (አወረደው)፡፡ | (194) to your heart [O Prophet] so that you may be one of the warners, |
| (195) ግልጽ በኾነ ዐረብኛ ቋንቋ፡፡ | (195) in a clear Arabic language. |
| (196) እርሱም (ቁርኣን) በቀድሞዎቹ መጻሐፍት ውስጥ (የተወሳ ነው)፡፡ | (196) And it was indeed [mentioned] in the scriptures of the former peoples. |
| (197) የእስራኤል ልጆች ሊቃውንት የሚያውቁት መኾኑ ለእነርሱ (ለመካ ከሓዲዎች) ምልክት አይኾናቸውምን | (197) Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of the Children of Israel recognized it [to be true]? |
| (198) ከአዕጀሞች ባንዱ ላይ ባወረድነውም ኖሮ፤ | (198) If We had sent it down to any of the non-Arabs, |
| (199) በእነርሱ ላይ ባነበበውም በእርሱ አማኞች አይኾኑም ነበር፡፡ | (199) and he had recited it to them, still they would not have believed in it. |
| (200) እንደዚሁ (ማስተባበልን) በተንኮለኞች ልቦች ውስጥ አስገባነው፡፡ | (200) This is how We made it [disbelief] enter the hearts of the wicked. |
| (201) አሳማሚ ቅጣትን እስከሚያዩ ድረስ በእርሱ አያምኑም፡፡ | (201) They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment, |
| (202) እነርሱ የማያውቁ ሲኾኑ (ቅጣቱ) ድንገት እስከሚመጣባቸውም ድረስ (አያምኑም)፡፡ | (202) which will come upon them suddenly when they least expect it. |
| (203) (በመጣባቸው ጊዜ) «እኛ የምንቆይ ነን» እስከሚሉም (አያምኑም)፡፡ | (203) They will then say, “Can we be granted some respite?” |
| (204) በቅጣታችን ያቻኩላሉን | (204) Do they really seek to hasten Our punishment? |
| (205) አየህን ብዙ ዓመታትን ብናጣቅማቸው፤ | (205) Tell me [O Prophet] if We give them a life of ease for years, |
| (206) ከዚያም ያ ይስፈራሩበት የነበሩት ቢመጣባቸው፤ | (206) then there came to them what they were warned of, |
| (207) ይጣቀሙበት የነበሩት ሁሉ ከእነሱ ምንም አያብቃቃቸውም፡፡ | (207) what would avail them the life of ease that they were given? |
| (208) አንዲትንም ከተማ ለእርሷ አስፈራሪዎች ያሏት (እና ያስተባበለች) ኾና እንጅ አላጠፋንም፡፡ | (208) We never destroyed any town without sending them warners, |
| (209) (ይህች) ግሳፄ ናት፡፡ በዳዮችም አልነበርንም፡፡ | (209) to admonish them, for We are never unjust. |
| (210) ሰይጣናትም እርሱን (ቁርኣንን) አላወረዱትም፡፡ | (210) This [Qur’an] is not sent down by the devils, |
| (211) ለእነርሱም አይገባቸውም፤ አይችሉምም፡፡ | (211) it is not for them to do this, nor is it within their capability, |
| (212) እነርሱ (የመላእክትን ንግግር) ከመስማት ተከለከሉ ናቸው፡፡ | (212) for they are strictly barred from overhearing it. |
| (213) ከአላህም ጋር ሌላን አምላክ አትግገዛ፤ ከሚቀጡት ትኾናለህና፡፡ | (213) So do not call upon any other god besides Allah, lest you become of those who will be punished. |
| (214) ቅርቦች ዘመዶችህንም አስጠንቅቅ፡፡ | (214) And warn [starting with] the nearest kinsfolk, |
| (215) ከምእምናንም ለተከተሉህ ሰዎች ክንፍህን ዝቅ አድርግ፤ (ልዝብ ኹን)፡፡ | (215) and lower your wing [in kindness] to the believers who follow you. |
| (216) «እንቢ» ቢሉህም «እኔ ከምትሠሩት ንጹሕ ነኝ» በላቸው፡፡ | (216) But if they disobey you, say, “I disown what you do.” |
| (217) አሸናፊ አዛኝ በኾነው (ጌታህ) ላይም ተጠጋ፡፡ | (217) And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, |
| (218) በዚያ ለሶላት በምትቆም ጊዜ በሚያይህ፡፡ | (218) Who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], |
| (219) በሰጋጆች ውስጥ መዘዋወርህንም (በሚያየው ጌታህ ላይ ተጠጋ)፡፡ | (219) and your movements among those who prostrate. |
| (220) እነሆ እርሱ ሰሚው ዐዋቂው ነውና፡፡ | (220) Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. |
| (221) ሰይጣናት በማን ላይ እንደሚወርዱ ልንገራችሁን | (221) Shall I inform you upon who the devils descend? |
| (222) በውሸታም ኀጢአተኛ ሁሉ ላይ ይወርዳሉ፡፡ | (222) They descend upon every sinful liar, |
| (223) የሰሙትን (ወደ ጠንቋዮች) ይጥላሉ፡፡ አብዛኞቻቸውም ውሸታሞች ናቸው፡፡ | (223) who whisper hearsay in the ears, but most of them are liars. |
| (224) ባለ ቅኔዎችንም ጠማማዎቹ ይከተሉዋቸዋል፡፡ | (224) As for poets, they are followed by the deviants. |
| (225) እነርሱ በ(ንግግር) ሸለቆ ሁሉ የሚዋልሉ መኾናቸውን አታይምን | (225) Do you not see that they wander aimlessly in every valley, |
| (226) እነሱም የማይሠሩትን ነገር የሚናገሩ መኾናቸውን (አታይምን)፤ | (226) and that they say what they do not do? |
| (227) እነዚያ ያመኑና መልካም ሥራዎችን የሠሩ አላህንም በብዛት ያወሱ ከተበደሉም በኋላ (በቅኔ) የተከላከሉ ሲቀሩ፤ (እነርሱ አይወቀሱም)፡፡ እነዚያም የበደሉ (ከሞቱ በኋላ) እንዴት ያለን መመለስ እንደሚመለሱ በእርግጥ ያውቃሉ፡፡ | (227) Except those who believe, do righteous deeds, remember Allah much and defend themselves after being wronged. The wrongdoers will come to know what end awaits them. |
