70 – Al-Ma’aarij
| (1) ወዳቂ ከኾነው ቅጣት ጠያቂ ጠየቀ፡፡ | (1) A challenger asked for a punishment bound to come |
| (2) በከሓዲዎች ላይ (ወዳቂ ከኾነው) ለእርሱ መላሽ የለውም፡፡ | (2) upon the disbelievers, which none can avert, |
| (3) የ(ሰማያት) መሰላሎች ባለቤት ከኾነው አላህ (መላሽ የለውም)፡፡ | (3) from Allah, Lord of the pathways of ascent, |
| (4) መላእክቱና መንፈሱም ልኩ አምሳ ሺሕ ዓመት በኾነ ቀን ውስጥ ወደእርሱ ያርጋሉ፤ (ይወጣሉ)፡፡ | (4) by which the angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him on a Day the length of which is fifty thousand years. |
| (5) መልካምንም ትዕግስት ታገሥ፡፡ | (5) So be patient [O Prophet] with beautiful patience. |
| (6) እነርሱ (ያንን ቀን) ሩቅ አድርገው ያዩታል፡፡ | (6) Indeed, they see this [punishment] far off, |
| (7) እኛም ቅርብ ኾኖ እናየዋለን፡፡ | (7) but We see it to be close at hand. |
| (8) ሰማይ እንደ ዘይት አተላ በምትኾንበት ቀን፡፡ | (8) On the Day when the sky will be like molten brass |
| (9) ጋራዎችም በተለያዩ ቀለማት እንደ ተነከረ ሱፍ (ነፋስ እንደሚያበረው) በሚኾኑበት ቀን፡፡ | (9) and the mountains will be like dyed wool, |
| (10) ዘመድም ዘመድን በማይጠይቅበት ቀን፤ (መላሽ የለውም)፡፡ | (10) and no close friend will ask about another, |
| (11) (ዘመዶቻቸውን) ያዩዋቸዋል፡፡ አመጸኛው ከዚያ ቀን ስቃይ (ነፍሱን) በልጆቹ ሊበዥ ይመኛል፡፡ | (11) even though they will see one another. The wicked will wish he could ransom himself from the punishment of that Day by offering his children, |
| (12) በሚስቱም በወንድሙም፡፡ | (12) and his wife and his brother, |
| (13) በዚያችም በምታስጠጋው ጎሳው፡፡ | (13) and his kindred who stood by him, |
| (14) በምድርም ላይ ባለው ሁሉ (ሊበዥ) ከዚያም ሊያድነው (ይመኛል)፡፡ | (14) and everyone on earth, just to save himself. |
| (15) ይተው! እርሷ (እሳቲቱ) ለዟ ናት፡፡ | (15) By no means! It is a raging Flame, |
| (16) የራስን ቅል ቆዳ የምትሞሽልቅ ስትኾን፡፡ | (16) that will strip off the scalps. |
| (17) (ከእምነት) የዞረንና የሸሸን ሰው (ወደእርሷ) ትጠራለች፡፡ | (17) It will call everyone who turned their backs and disobeyed, |
| (18) ገንዘብን የሰበሰበንና (ዘካውን ሳይሰጥ) የቆጠረንም፤ (ትጠራለች)፡፡ | (18) and amassed and hoarded wealth. |
| (19) ሰው ቅጠ ቢስ ኾኖ ተፈጠረ፡፡ | (19) Indeed, man was created impatient: |
| (20) ክፉ ነገር ባገኘው ጊዜ ብስጪተኛ፡፡ | (20) when evil befalls him, he bewails, |
| (21) መልካምም ነገር (ድሎት) ባገኘ ጊዜ ከልካይ (ኾኖ ተፈጠረ)፡፡ | (21) but when good fortune comes his way, he becomes tight-fisted – |
| (22) ሰጋጆቹ ብቻ ሲቀሩ፡፡ | (22) except those who pray, |
| (23) እነዚያ እነርሱ በስግደታቸው ላይ ዘውታሪዎች የኾኑት፡፡ | (23) who are steadfast in their prayers; |
| (24) እነዚያም በገንዘቦቻቸው ላይ የታወቀ መብት ያለባቸው የኾኑት፡፡ | (24) and who give a due share of their wealth |
| (25) ለለማኝ ከልመና ለሚከለከልም (መብት ያለባቸው የኾኑት)፡፡ | (25) to the beggar and the dispossessed; |
| (26) እነዚያም በፍርዱ ቀን እውነት የሚሉት (የሚያረጋግጡት)፡፡ | (26) and who firmly believe in the Day of Judgment; |
| (27) እነዚያም እነርሱ ከጌታቸው ቅጣት ፈሪዎች የኾኑት፡፡ | (27) and those who fear the punishment of their Lord – |
| (28) የጌታቸው ቅጣት (መምጣቱ) የማያስተማምን ነውና፡፡ | (28) for none can feel secure from their Lord’s punishment – |
| (29) እነዚያም እነርሱ ብልቶቻቸውን ጠባቂዎች የኾኑት፡፡ | (29) and those who guard their private parts, |
| (30) በሚስቶቻቸው ወይም እጆቻቸው በያዙዋቸው (ባሪያዎች) ላይ ሲቀር፡፡ እነርሱ (በእነዚህ) የማይወቀሱ ናቸውና፡፡ | (30) except from their wives or bondwomen whom they own, for then they are not to be blamed. |
| (31) ከዚያም ወዲያ የፈለገ ሰው እነዚያ እነሱ ድንበር አላፊዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (31) But whoever seeks beyond that, it is they who are the transgressors. |
| (32) እነዚያም እነርሱ አደራዎቻቸውንና ቃል ኪዳናቸውን ጠባቂዎች የኾኑት፡፡ | (32) and those who fulfill their trusts and pledges; |
| (33) እነዚያም እነርሱ በምስክርነታቸው ትክክለኞች የኾኑት፡፡ | (33) and who are upright in their testimonies; |
| (34) እነዚያም እነርሱ በሶላቶቻቸው ላይ የሚጠባበቁት፡፡ | (34) and who take due care of their prayers; |
| (35) እነዚህ (ከዚህ በላይ የተወሱት ሁሉ) በገነቶች ውስጥ የሚከበሩ ናቸው፡፡ | (35) they will be honored in gardens. |
| (36) ለእነዚያም ለካዱት ወደ አንተ በኩል አንገቶቻቸውን መዝዘው የሚያተኩሩት ምን አላቸው? | (36) What is the matter with the disbelievers that they are rushing towards you [O Prophet], |
| (37) ከቀኝና ከግራ ክፍልፍል ጭፍሮች ሲኾኑ፡፡ | (37) from the right and from the left, in crowds? |
| (38) ከእነርሱ እያንዳንዱ ሰው የጸጋይቱን ገነት መግባትን ይከጅላልን? | (38) Does everyone of them aspire to enter a garden of bliss? |
| (39) ይከልከል፤ እኛ ከሚያውቁት ነገር (ከፍቶት ጠብታ) ፈጠርናቸው፡፡ | (39) By no means! We have created them from what they know. |
| (40) በምሥራቆችና በምዕራቦችም ጌታ እምላለሁ፡፡ እኛ በእርግጥ ቻዮች ነን፡፡ | (40) I swear by the Lord of the sunrises and sunsets that We are surely Capable |
| (41) ከእነርሱ የተሻለን በመለወጥ ላይ፡፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም፡፡ | (41) to replace them with others better than them, and none can escape Our decree. |
| (42) ያንንም የሚስፈራሩበትን ቀናቸውን እስከሚገናኙ ድረስ ተዋቸው፡፡ ይዋኙ ይጫወቱም፡፡ | (42) So leave them to engage in their falsehood and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised; |
| (43) ወደ ጣዖቶች እንደሚሽቀዳደሙ ኾነው ከመቃብሮቻቸው ፈጥነው የሚወጡበትን ቀን (እስከሚገናኙ ድረስ ተዋቸው)፡፡ | (43) the Day when they will rush out of their graves as if they are racing towards a goal, |
| (44) ዓይኖቻቸው ያፈሩ ኾነው ውርደት ትሸፍናቸዋለች፡፡ ይህ ቀን ያ ይስፈራሩበት የነበሩት ነው፡፡ | (44) with their eyes downcast and overwhelmed with disgrace. That is the Day that they were promised. |
