56 – Al-Waaqia
| (1) መከራይቱ በወደቀች ጊዜ፡፡ | (1) When the Inevitable Event comes to pass, |
| (2) ለመውደቋ አስተባባይ (ነፍስ) የለችም፡፡ | (2) there will be none to deny its occurrence; |
| (3) ዝቅ አድራጊና ከፍ አድራጊ ናት፡፡ | (3) it will bring some low and raise others up. |
| (4) ምድር መናወጥን በተናወጠች ጊዜ፡፡ | (4) When the earth will be shaken violently, |
| (5) ተራራዎችም መፍፈርፈርን በተፈረፈሩ ጊዜ (እንደተፈጨ ዱቄት በኾኑ ጊዜ)፡፡ | (5) and the mountains crushed to pieces, |
| (6) የተበተነ ብናኝ በኾኑም ጊዜ | (6) and turn to scattered dust, |
| (7) ሦስት ዓይነቶችም በኾናችሁ ጊዜ (ታዋርዳለች፤ ታነሳለችም)፡፡ | (7) then you are sorted into three groups: |
| (8) የቀኝ ጓዶችም ምን (የተከበሩ) የቀኝ ጓዶች ናቸው፡፡ | (8) the people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right! |
| (9) የግራ ጓዶችም ምን (የተዋረዱ) የግራ ጓዶች ናቸው፡፡ | (9) The people of the left – how miserable will be the people of the left! |
| (10) (ለበጎ ሥራ) ቀዳሚዎቹም (ለገነት) ቀዳሚዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (10) And the forerunners [in faith] are the forerunners [in Paradise]. |
| (11) እነዚያ ባለሟሎቹ ናቸው፡፡ | (11) They are the nearest ones [to Allah], |
| (12) በመጠቀሚያ ገነቶች ውስጥ ሲኾኑ፡፡ | (12) in Gardens of Bliss, |
| (13) ከፊተኞቹ ብዙ ጭፍሮች ናቸው፡፡ | (13) many from the early generations, |
| (14) ከኋለኞቹም ጥቂቶች ናቸው፡፡ | (14) and a few from the later generations. |
| (15) በተታቱ አልጋዎች ላይ ይኾናሉ፡፡ | (15) [They will be seated] on jeweled couches, |
| (16) በእርሷ ላይ የተመቻቹና ፊት ለፊት የተቅጣጩ ሲኾኑ፡፡ | (16) reclining on them, facing one another. |
| (17) በእነርሱ ላይ ሁል ጊዜ የማያረጁ ወጣቶች ልጆች ይዘዋወራሉ፡፡ | (17) They will be served by immortal youths |
| (18) ከጠጅ ምንጭም በብርጭቆዎችና በኩስኩስቶች በጽዋም (በእነርሱ ላይ ይዝዞራሉ)፡፡ | (18) with cups, pitchers, and glasses [of wine] from a flowing spring, |
| (19) ከእርሷ የራስ ምታት አያገኛቸውም፤ አይሰክሩምም፡፡ | (19) which will neither cause any headache nor intoxication, |
| (20) ከሚመርጡትም ዓይነት በእሸቶች፡፡ | (20) along with fruits of their choice, |
| (21) ከሚሹትም በኾነ የበራሪ ሥጋ (ይዞሩባቸዋል)፡፡ | (21) and flesh of birds that they may desire. |
| (22) ዓይናማዎች የኾኑ ነጫጭ ቆንጆዎችም አሏቸው፡፡ | (22) And [they will have] maidens with wide gorgeous eyes, |
| (23) ልክ እንደተሸፈነ ሉል መሰሎች የኾኑ፡፡ | (23) like pristine pearls, |
| (24) በዚያ ይሠሩት በነበሩት ምክንያት ዋጋ ይኾን ዘንድ (ይህንን አደረግንላቸው)፡፡ | (24) as a reward for what they used to do. |
| (25) በውስጥዋ ውድቅ ንግግርንና መውወንጀልን አይሰሙም፡፡ | (25) They will not hear therein any idle talk or sinful speech, |
| (26) ግን ሰላም መባባልን (ይሰማሉ)፡፡ | (26) except the words of peace, peace. |
| (27) የቀኝም ጓዶች ምንኛ (የከበሩ) የቀኝ ጓዶች! | (27) The people of the right – how blessed will be the people of the right! |
| (28) በተቀፈቀፈ (እሾህ በሌለው) ቁርቁራ ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (28) [They will be] amid thornless lote trees, |
| (29) (ፍሬው) በተነባበረ በሙዝ ዛፍም፡፡ | (29) and clusters of bananas, |
| (30) በተዘረጋ ጥላ ሥርም፡፡ | (30) and shade long-extended, |
| (31) በሚንቧቧ ውሃ አጠገብም፡፡ | (31) and flowing water, |
| (32) ብዙ (ዓይነት) በኾኑ ፍራፍሬዎችም፡፡ | (32) and abundant fruit – |
| (33) የማትቋረጥም የማትከለከልም የኾነች፡፡ | (33) neither ceasing nor restricted – |
| (34) ከፍ በተደረጉ ምንጣፎችም (ሴቶችም መካከል)፡፡ | (34) and mattresses raised high [on beds]. |
| (35) እኛ አዲስ ፍጥረት አድርገን (ለእነርሱ) ፈጠርናቸው፡፡ | (35) Indeed, We have perfectly created them [their spouses], |
| (36) ደናግሎችም አደረግናቸው፡፡ | (36) and have made them virgins, |
| (37) ለባሎቻቸው ተሽሞርሟሪዎች እኩያዎች (አደረግናቸው)፡፡ | (37) loving and of equal age, |
| (38) ለቀኝ ጓዶች (አዘጋጀናቸው)፡፡ | (38) for the people of the right, |
| (39) ከፊተኞቹ ብዙ ጭፍሮች ናቸው፡፡ | (39) many from the earlier generations, |
| (40) ከኋለኞቹም ብዙ ጭፍሮች ናቸው፡፡ | (40) and many from the later generations. |
| (41) የግራ ጓደኞችም ምንኛ (የተዋረዱ) የግራ ጓዶች! ናቸው፡፡ | (41) And the people of the left – how wretched will be the people of the left! |
| (42) በመርዛም ነፋስ በጣም በፈላ ውሃም ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (42) [They will be] in scorching wind and scalding water, |
| (43) ከጥቁር ጭስም በኾነ ጥላ ውስጥ፡፡ | (43) in the shade of black smoke, |
| (44) ቀዝቃዛም መልካምም ያልኾነ፡፡ | (44) neither cool nor refreshing. |
| (45) እነርሱ ከዚህ በፊት ቅምጥሎች ነበሩና፡፡ | (45) Indeed, they used to be in luxuries before, |
| (46) በታላቅ ኀጢአትም ላይ ይዘወትሩ ነበሩና፡፡ | (46) and persisted in the gravest sin [of polytheism]. |
| (47) ይሉም ነበሩ፡- «በሞትንና ዐፈር፣ ዐጥንቶችም በኾን ጊዜ እኛ በእርግጥ የምንቀሰቀስ ነን? | (47) They used to say, “When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be raised again? |
| (48) «የፊተኞቹ አባቶቻችንም?» | (48) And our forefathers as well?” |
| (49) በላቸው፡- «ፊተኞቹም ኋለኞቹም፡፡ | (49) Say, [O Prophet], “Indeed, the former and later generations |
| (50) «በተወሰነ ቀን ቀጠሮ በእርግጥ ተሰብሳቢዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (50) will be gathered on a predetermined Day. |
| (51) «ከዚያም እናንተ ጠማሞች አስተባባዮች ሆይ! | (51) Then you, O misguided deniers, |
| (52) « ከዘቁም ዛፍ በእርግጥ በይዎች ናችሁ፡፡ | (52) will surely eat from the tree of zaqqūm, |
| (53) «ከእርሷም ሆዶቻችሁን ሞይዎች ናችሁ፡፡ | (53) filling your bellies with it, |
| (54) «በእርሱ ላይም ከፈላ ውሃ ጠጪዎች ናችሁ፡፡ | (54) and drinking scalding water on top of it, |
| (55) «የተጠሙንም ግመሎች አጠጣጥ ብጤ ጠጪዎች ናችሁ፡፡» | (55) drinking like thirsty camels do.” |
| (56) ይህ በፍርዱ ቀን መስተንግዷቸው ነው፡፡ | (56) This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. |
| (57) እኛ ፈጠርናችሁ አታምኑምን? | (57) It is We Who created you; will you not then believe [in resurrection]? |
| (58) (በማኅፀኖች) የምታፈሱትን አያችሁን? | (58) Have you thought about the semen that you emit? |
| (59) እናንተ ትፈጥሩታላችሁን? ወይስ እኛ ፈጣሪዎቹን ነን? | (59) Is it you who create it, or is it We Who are the Creators? |
| (60) እኛ ሞትን (ጊዜውን) በመካከላችሁ ወሰንን፡፡ እኛም ተሸናፊዎች አይደለንም፡፡ | (60) We have ordained death among you, and nothing can overcome us |
| (61) ብጤዎቻችሁን በመለወጥና በዚያ በማታውቁትም (ቅርጽ) እናንተን በመፍጠር ላይ (አንሸነፍም)፡፡ | (61) from transforming you and recreating you in forms that you do not know. |
| (62) የፊተኛይቱንም አፈጣጠር በእርግጥ ዐውቃችኋል፡፡ አትገነዘቡምን? | (62) You are well aware of the first creation; why do you not then take heed? |
| (63) የምትዘሩትንም አያችሁን? | (63) Have you thought about what you sow? |
| (64) እናንተ ታበቅሉታላችሁን? ወይስ እኛ አብቃዮቹ ነን? | (64) Is it you who cause it grow, or is it We Who make it grow? |
| (65) ብነሻ ኖሮ ደረቅ ስብርብር ባደረግነውና የምትደነቁም በኾናችሁ ነበር፡፡ | (65) If We willed, We could reduce your harvest to crumble, leaving you to wonder and lament, |
| (66) «እኛ በዕዳ ተያዦች ነን፡፡ | (66) “We suffered loss, |
| (67) «በእርግጥም እኛ (ከመጠቀም) የተከለከልን ነን» (ትሉ ነበር)፡፡ | (67) rather, we are deprived.” |
| (68) ያንንም የምትጠጡትን ውሃ አየችሁን? | (68) Have you thought about the water that you drink? |
| (69) እናንተ ከደመናው አወረዳችሁትን? ወይስ እኛ አውራጆቹ ነን? | (69) Is it you who bring it down from the clouds, or is it We Who bring it down? |
| (70) ብንሻ ኖሮ መርጋጋ ባደረግነው ነበር፡፡ አታመሰግኑምን? | (70) If We willed, We could make it salty; will you not then give thanks? |
| (71) ያቺንም የምትሰብቋትን እሳት አያችሁን? | (71) Have you thought about the fire that you kindle? |
| (72) እናንተ ዛፏን ፈጠራችሁን? ወይስ እኛ ፈጣሪዎችዋ ነን? | (72) Is it you who produced its trees, or is it We Who produced it? |
| (73) እኛ (ለገሀናም) ማስታወሻ ለመንገደኞችም መጠቀሚያ አደረግናት፡፡ | (73) We made it a reminder [of the Hellfire] and a benefit for the travelers. |
| (74) የታላቁን ጌታህንም ስም አወድስ፡፡ | (74) So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. |
| (75) በከዋክብትም መጥለቂያዎች እምላለሁ፡፡ | (75) I do swear by the positions of the stars – |
| (76) እርሱም ብታወቁ ታላቅ መሓላ ነው፡፡ | (76) and this is indeed a great oath, if only you knew – |
| (77) እርሱ የከበረ ቁርኣን ነው፡፡ | (77) that this is indeed a noble Qur’an, |
| (78) በተጠበቀ መጽሐፍ ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (78) in a well-preserved Record, |
| (79) የተጥራሩት እንጅ ሌላ አይነካውም፡፡ | (79) that none can touch except the purified [angels] – |
| (80) ከዓለማት ጌታ የተወረደ ነው፡፡ | (80) a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. |
| (81) በዚህ ንግግር እናንተ ቸልተኞች ናችሁን? | (81) Do you take this discourse lightly, |
| (82) ሲሳያችሁንም (ዝናምን) እናንተ የምታስተባብሉት ታደርጋላችሁን? | (82) and instead [of thanking Allah] for the provision you are given, you show ingratitude? |
| (83) (ነፍስ) ጉረሮንም በደረሰች ጊዜ፡፡ | (83) Then why [are you helpless] when the soul reaches the throat, |
| (84) እናንተ ያን ጊዜ የምታዩ ስትኾኑ፡፡ | (84) while you are looking on, |
| (85) እኛም ግን አታዩም እንጅ ከእናንተ ይልቅ ወደእርሱ የቀረብን ስንኾን፡፡ | (85) when We are closer to him than you, but you do not see? |
| (86) የማትዳኙም ከኾናችሁ፡፡ | (86) If you are not subject to retribution, then why do you not |
| (87) እውነተኞች እንደ ኾናችሁ (ነፍሲቱን ወደ አካሉ) ለምን አትመልሷትም፡፡ | (87) bring that [soul] back, if you are truthful? |
| (88) (ሟቹ) ከባለሟሎቹ ቢኾንማ፡፡ | (88) If that dying person is one of those who will be brought near to Allah, |
| (89) (ለእርሱ) ዕረፍት፣ መልካም ሲሳይም፣ የመጠቀሚያ ገነትም አልለው፡፡ | (89) then [he will have] comfort, fragrance, and a Garden of Bliss. |
| (90) ከቀኝ ጓዶችም ቢኾንማ፡፡ | (90) If he is one of the people of the right, |
| (91) ከቀኝ ጓዶች ስለ ኾንክ ላንተ ሰላም አልለህ (ይባላል)፡፡ | (91) [He will be told], “Peace be to you, for being one of the people of the right.” |
| (92) ከሚያስዋሹት ጠማማዎችም ቢኾንማ፡፡ | (92) But if he is one of the misguided deniers, |
| (93) ከፈላ ውሃ የኾነ መስተንግዶ አልለው፡፡ | (93) then he will be welcomed with scalding water, |
| (94) በገሀነም መቃጠልም (አልለው)፡፡ | (94) and he will burn in Blazing Fire. |
| (95) ይህ እርሱ እርግጠኛ እውነት ነው፡፡ | (95) This is indeed the absolute truth. |
| (96) የታላቁንም ጌታህን ስም አወድስ፡፡ | (96) So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Great. |
