44 – Ad-Dukhaan
| (1) ሐ.መ (ሓ ሚም)፡፡ | (1) Hā Mīm. |
| (2) አብራሪ በኾነው መጽሐፍ እንምላለን፡፡ | (2) By the clear Book. |
| (3) እኛ (ቁርኣኑን) በተባረከች ሌሊት ውስጥ አወረድነው፡፡ እኛ አስፈራሪዎች ነበርንና፡፡ | (3) Indeed, We sent it down on a blessed night, We have been warning about. |
| (4) በውስጧ የተወሰነው ነገር ሁሉ ይልለያል፡፡ | (4) On that night, every matter of wisdom is determined |
| (5) ከእኛ ዘንድ የኾነ ትእዛዝ ሲኾን (አወረድነው)፡፡ እኛ (መልክተኞችን) ላኪዎች ነበርን፡፡ | (5) by Our command. We have always sent messengers. |
| (6) ከጌታህ በኾነው ችሮታ (ተላኩ)፡፡ እነሆ እርሱ ሰሚው ዐዋቂው ነውና፡፡ | (6) as a mercy from your Lord. He is indeed the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, |
| (7) የሰማያትና የምድር በመካከላቸውም ያለው ነገር ሁሉ ጌታ ከኾነው (ተላኩ)፡፡ የምታረጋግጡ እንደኾናችሁ (ነገሩ እንዳልነው መኾኑን እወቁ)፡፡ | (7) Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, if only you had sure faith. |
| (8) ከእርሱ ሌላ አምላክ የለም፡፡ ሕያው ያደርጋል፡፡ ይገድላልም፡፡ ጌታችሁ የመጀመሪያዎቹ አባቶቻችሁም ጌታ ነው፡፡ | (8) None has the right to be worshiped except Him, Who gives life and causes death – your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers. |
| (9) በእውነቱ እነርሱ የሚጫወቱ ሲኾኑ በመጠራጠር ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (9) But they are in doubt, amusing themselves. |
| (10) ሰማይም በግልጽ ጭስ የምትመጣበትን ቀን ተጠባበቅ፡፡ | (10) So wait for a day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke, |
| (11) ሰዎችን የሚሸፍን (በኾነ ጭስ) ይህ አሳማሚ ቅጣት ነው፡፡ | (11) that will overwhelm the people. This is a painful punishment! |
| (12) «ጌታችን ሆይ! ከእኛ ላይ ቅጣቱን ግለጥልን፡፡ እኛ አማኞች እንኾናለንና» (ይላሉም)፡፡ | (12) [They will cry,] “Our Lord, remove the punishment from us; we will surely believe!” |
| (13) (ቅጣቱ በወረደ ጊዜ) ለእነርሱ መግገሰጽ እንዴት ይኖራቸዋል? አስረጅ መልክተኛ የመጣቸው ሲኾን (የካዱም ሲኾኑ)፡፡ | (13) How will they take heed, when a messenger who explained things clearly has already come to them? |
| (14) ከዚያም ከእርሱ የዞሩ፤ (ከሰው) «የተሰተማረ ዕብድ ነው» ያሉም ሲኾኑ፡፡ | (14) Then they turned away from him and said, “[He is] a madman, taught by others.” |
| (15) እኛ ቅጣቱን ለጥቂት ጊዜ ገላጮች ነን፡፡ እናንተ (ወደ ክህደታችሁ) በእርግጥ ተመላሾች ናችሁ፡፡ | (15) We shall hold the punishment back for a while, but you will surely return [to disbelief]. |
| (16) ታላቂቱን ብርቱ አያያዝ በምንይዝበት ቀን፤ እኛ ተበቃዮች ነን፡፡ | (16) On the Day when We seize [them] with the greatest assault, We will surely exact retribution. |
| (17) ከእነርሱም በፊት የፈርዖንን ሕዝቦች በእርግጥ ሞከርን፡፡ ክቡር መልእክተኛም መጣላቸው፡፡ | (17) Indeed, We tested the people of Pharaoh before them, when a noble messenger came to them, |
| (18) «የአላህን ባሮች ወደኔ አድርሱ፡፡ እኔ ለእናንተ ታማኝ መልክተኛ ነኝና፡፡ | (18) [saying], “Hand over to me the slaves of Allah. I am indeed a trustworthy messenger to you, |
| (19) «በአላህም ላይ አትኩሩ፡፡ እኔ ግልጽ የኾነን አስረጅ ያመጣሁላችሁ ነኝና (በማለት መጣላቸው)፡፡ | (19) and do not be arrogant towards Allah. I have certainly come to you with a clear proof. |
| (20) «እኔም እንዳትወግሩኝ በጌታየና በጌታችሁ ተጠብቂያለሁ፡፡ | (20) And I certainly seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me to death. |
| (21) «በእኔም ባታምኑ ራቁኝ» (ተዉኝ አለ)፡፡ | (21) If you do not believe me, then leave me alone.” |
| (22) ቀጥሎም (ስለ ዛቱበት) «እነዚህ አመጸኞች ሕዝቦች ናቸው» (አጥፋቸው) ሲል ጌታውን ለመነ፡፡ | (22) Then he called upon his Lord, “These are a wicked people”. |
| (23) (ጌታው) «ባሮቼንም ይዘህ በሌሊት ኺድ፡፡ እናንተ የሚከተሉዋችሁ ናችሁና፡፡ | (23) [Allah said], “Leave along with My slaves by night; you will surely be pursued. |
| (24) «ባሕሩንም የተከፈተ ኾኖ ተወው፡፡ እነርሱ የሚሰጥጠሙ ሰራዊት ናቸውና» (አለው)፡፡ | (24) And leave the sea parted; for they are surely an army destined to drown.” |
| (25) ከአትክልቶችና ከምንጮችም ብዙ ነገሮችን ተዉ፡፡ | (25) [Imagine] how many gardens and springs they left behind, |
| (26) ከአዝመራዎችም ከመልካም መቀመጫም፡፡ | (26) and crops and splendid mansions, |
| (27) በእርሷ ተደሳቾች ከነበሩባትም ድሎት (ብዙን ነገር ተዉ)፡፡ | (27) and luxuries they used to rejoice therein. |
| (28) (ነገሩ) እንደዚሁ ኾነ፡፡ ሌሎችንም ሕዝቦች አወረስናት፡፡ | (28) So it was; and We made another people inherit all that. |
| (29) ሰማይና ምድርም በእነርሱ ላይ አላለቀሱም፡፡ የሚቆዩም አልነበሩም፡፡ | (29) Neither the heaven nor earth wept for them, nor were they given any respite. |
| (30) የእስራኤልንም ልጆች አዋራጅ ከኾነ ስቃይ በእርግጥ አዳንናቸው፡፡ | (30) Thus did We save the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment, |
| (31) ከፈርዖን፤ እርሱ የኮራ ከወሰን አላፊዎቹ ነበርና፡፡ | (31) from Pharaoh. He was indeed arrogant who transgressed all bounds. |
| (32) ከማወቅም ጋር በዓለማት ላይ በእርግጥ መረጥናቸው፡፡ | (32) We chose them with knowledge above all others. |
| (33) ከታምራቶችም በውስጡ ግልጽ የኾነ ፈተና ያለበትን ሰጠናቸው፡፡ | (33) And We gave them signs in which there was a clear test. |
| (34) እነዚህ (የመካ ከሓዲዎች) በእርግጥ ይላሉ፡- | (34) Indeed, these [Makkans] say, |
| (35) እርሷ የፊተኛይቱ ሞታችን እንጅ አይደለችም፡፡ እኛም የምንቀሰቀስ አይደለንም፡፡ | (35) “There is nothing after our first death, and we will not be resurrected, |
| (36) እውነተኞችም እንደ ኾናችሁ አባቶቻችንን አምጡልን፡፡ | (36) then bring back our forefathers if you are truthful.” |
| (37) እነርሱ በላጮች ናቸውን ወይስ የቱብበዕ ሕዝቦችና እነዚያ ከእነርሱ በፊት የነበሩት? አጠፋናቸው፡፡ እነርሱ አመጸኞች ነበሩና፡፡ | (37) Are they better [in power] or the people of Tubba‘ and those who were before them? We destroyed them, for they were truly wicked. |
| (38) ሰማያትንና ምድርንም በሁለቱ መካከል ያለውንም ሁሉ ቀላጆች ኾነን አልፈጠርንም፡፡ | (38) We have not created the heavens and earth and all that is between them for amusement. |
| (39) ሁለቱንም በምር እንጅ አልፈጠርናቸውም፡፡ ግን አብዛኞቻቸው አያውቁም፡፡ | (39) We have not created them except for a true purpose, but most of them do not know. |
| (40) የመለያው ቀን ለሁሉም ቀጠሯቸው ነው፡፡ | (40) Indeed, the Day of Judgment is the time appointed for them all, |
| (41) ዘመድ ከዘመዱ ምንንም የማይጠቅምበት እነርሱም የማይርረዱበት ቀን ነው፡፡ | (41) the Day when no friend will avail another in the least, nor will they be helped, |
| (42) አላህ ያዘነለት ሰውና ያመነ ብቻ ሲቀር፡፡ (እርሱስ ይርረዳል)፡፡ እርሱ አሸናፊው አዛኙ ነውና፡፡ | (42) except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. |
| (43) የዘቁመ ዛፍ | (43) Indeed, the tree of Zaqqūm |
| (44) የኀጢኣተኛው ምግብ ነው፡፡ | (44) will be the food of the sinful, |
| (45) እንደ ዘይት አተላ ነው፡፡ በሆዶች ውስጥ የሚፈላ ሲኾን፡፡ | (45) like molten metal that will boil in their bellies |
| (46) እንደ ገነፈለ ውሃ አፈላል (የሚፈላ ሲኾን)፡፡ | (46) like the boiling of scalding water. |
| (47) ያዙት፤ ወደ ገሀነም መካከልም በኀይል ጎትቱት፡፡ | (47) [It will be said], “Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire. |
| (48) ከዚያም «ከራሱ በላይ ከፈላ ውሃ ስቃይ አንቧቡበት፡፡» | (48) Then pour over his head the torment of scalding water.” |
| (49) «ቅመስ፤ አንተ አሸናፊው ክብሩ ነህና» (ይባላል)፡፡ | (49) “Taste this. You are surely the mighty and honorable! |
| (50) «ይህ ያ በእርሱ ትጠራጠሩበት የነበራችሁት ነው» (ይባላሉ)፡፡ | (50) This is what you [all] used to doubt.” |
| (51) ጥንቁቆቹ በእርግጥ በጸጥተኛ መኖሪያ ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (51) Indeed, the righteous will be in a safe place, |
| (52) በአትክልቶችና በምንጮች ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (52) in gardens and springs, |
| (53) ፊት ለፊት የተቅጣጩ ኾነው ከስስ ሐርና ከወፍራም ሐር ይለብሳሉ፡፡ | (53) wearing fine silk and heavy brocade, facing one another. |
| (54) (ነገሩ) እንደዚሁ ነው፤ ዓይናማዎች የኾኑን ነጫጭ ሴቶችም እናጠናዳቸዋለን፡፡ | (54) So it will be, and We will marry them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. |
| (55) በእርሷም ውስጥ የተማመኑ ኾነው፤ ከፍራፍሬ ሁሉ ያዝዛሉ፡፡ | (55) They will call therein for every kind of fruit, safe and secure. |
| (56) የፊተኛይቱን ሞት እንጅ (ዳግመኛ) በእርሷ ውስጥ ሞትን አይቀምሱም፡፡ የገሀነምንም ቅጣት (አላህ) ጠበቃቸው፡፡ | (56) They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will protect them from the punishment of the Blazing Fire, |
| (57) ከጌታህ በኾነ ችሮታ (ጠበቃቸው)፡፡ ይህ እርሱ ታላቅ ዕድል ነው፡፡ | (57) as a grace from your Lord. That is the supreme triumph. |
| (58) (ቁርኣኑን) በቋንቋህም ያገራነው (ሕዝቦችህ) ይገነዘቡ ዘንድ ብቻ ነው፡፡ | (58) We have made this [Qur’an] easy in your own language, so that they may take heed. |
| (59) ተጠባበቅም እነርሱ ተጠባባቂዎች ናቸውና፡፡ | (59) Then wait; they too are waiting. |
