| (1) ከሁሉ በላይ የኾነውን ጌታህን ስም አሞግሥ፡፡ |
(1) Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, |
| (2) የዚያን (ሁሉን ነገር) የፈጠረውን ያስተካከለውንም፡፡ |
(2) Who created and fashioned in due proportion, |
| (3) የዚያንም የወሰነውን፡፡ (ለተፈጠረለት ነገር) የመራውንም፡፡ |
(3) and Who determined [the creation] then guided them, |
| (4) የዚያንም ግጦሽን (ለምለም አድርጎ) ያወጣውን፡፡ |
(4) and Who brings forth the pasture, |
| (5) (ከዚያ) ደረቅ ጥቁር ያደረገውንም (አምላክ ስም አሞግስ)፡፡ |
(5) then makes it into withered chaff. |
| (6) (ቁርኣንን) በእርግጥ እናስነብብሃለን፤ አትረሳምም፡፡ |
(6) We will teach you [the Qur’an], so you will not forget, |
| (7) አላህ ከሻው ነገር በስተቀር፡፡ እርሱ ግልጹን የሚሸሸገውንም ሁሉ ያውቃልና፡፡ |
(7) except what Allah wills, for indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden. |
| (8) ለገሪቱም (ሕግጋት) እንገጥምሃለን፡፡ |
(8) We will guide you to the easy way. |
| (9) ግሣጼይቱ ብትጠቅም (ሰዎችን) ገሥጽም፡፡ |
(9) So remind, if the reminder should benefit. |
| (10) (አላህን) የሚፈራ ሰው በእርግጥ ይገሠጻል፡፡ |
(10) He who fears Allah will take heed, |
| (11) መናጢውም ይርቃታል፡፡ |
(11) but the wretched will avoid it, |
| (12) ያ ታላቂቱን እሳት የሚገባው፡፡ |
(12) who will enter the Great Fire, |
| (13) ከዚያም በእርሷ ውስጥ አይሞትም ሕያውም አይኾንም፡፡ |
(13) wherein he will neither die nor live. |
| (14) የተጥራራ ሰው በእርግጥ ዳነ፡፡ |
(14) Indeed, he who purifies himself will attain success, |
| (15) የጌታውንም ስም ያወሳና የሰገደ፡፡ |
(15) and remembers his Lord’s Name and prays. |
| (16) ይልቁንም ቅርቢቱን ሕይወት ትመርጣላችሁ፡፡ |
(16) But you prefer the life of this world, |
| (17) መጨረሻይቱ (ሕይወት) በላጭ ሁል ጊዜ ዘውታሪም ስትኾን፡፡ |
(17) even though the Hereafter is better and more lasting. |
| (18) ይህ በፊተኞቹ መጻሕፍት ውስጥ ያልለ ነው፡፡ |
(18) Indeed, this was in the earlier Scriptures, |
| (19) በኢብራሂምና በሙሳ ጽሑፎች ውስጥ፡፡ |
(19) the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. |
