54 – Al-Qamar
| (1) ሰዓቲቱ (የትንሣኤ ቀን) ተቃረበች፤ ጨረቃም ተገመሰ፡፡ | (1) The Hour has drawn near and the moon has split asunder. |
| (2) ተዓምርንም ቢያዩ (ከእምነት) ይዞራሉ፡፡ (ይህ) «ዘውታሪ ድግምት ነውም» ይላሉ፡፡ | (2) Whenever they see a sign, they turn away and say, “Same old magic!” |
| (3) አስተባበሉም፡፡ ዝንባሌዎቻቸውንም ተከተሉ፡፡ ነገርም ሁሉ (ወሰን አለው)፤ ረጊ ነው፡፡ | (3) They deny [the truth] and follow their desires, but every matter will reach its inevitable end. |
| (4) ከዜናዎችም በእርሱ ውስጥ መገሰጥ ያለበት ነገር በእርግጥ መጣላቸው፡፡ | (4) There have already come to them stories [of destroyed nations] that are sufficient to deter them, |
| (5) ሙሉ የኾነች ጥበብ (መጣቻቸው) ግን አስፈራሪዎቹ አያብቃቁም፡፡ | (5) which contain extensive wisdom, but the warnings are of no avail. |
| (6) ከነርሱም ዙር፡፡ ጠሪው (መልአክ) ወደ አስደንጋጭ ነገር የሚጠራበትን ቀን (አስታውስ)፡፡ | (6) So turn away from them [O Prophet]. On the Day when the caller will summon them to a horrific event, |
| (7) ዓይኖቻቸው ያቀረቀሩ ኾነው፤ ፍጹም የተበተነ አንበጣ መስለው ከመቃብሮቹ ይወጣሉ፡፡ | (7) with eyes downcast, they will come out of the graves like scattered locusts, |
| (8) ወደ ጠሪው አንገቶቻቸውን ሳቢዎች ቸኳዮች ኾነው (ይወጣሉ)፡፡ ከሓዲዎቹ (ያን ጊዜ ምን ይላሉ?) «ይህ ብርቱ ቀን ነው» ይላሉ፡፡ | (8) rushing headlong towards the caller. The disbelievers will say, “This is a hard Day!” |
| (9) ከእነርሱ በፊት የኑሕ ነገድ አስተባበለች፡፡ ባሪያችንንም (ኑሕን) አስተባበሉ፡፡ «ዕብድ ነውም» አሉ፡፡ ተገላመጠም፡፡ | (9) The people of Noah rejected [the truth] before them; they rejected Our slave and said, “He is a madman,” and he was rebuked. |
| (10) ጌታውንም «እኔ የተሸነፍኩ ነኝና እርዳኝ» ሲል ጠራ፡፡ | (10) So he called upon his Lord, “I am overpowered, so help me!” |
| (11) ወዲያውም የሰማይን ደጃፎች በሚንቧቧ ውሃ ከፈትን፡፡ | (11) So We opened the gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, |
| (12) የምድርንም ምንጮች አፈነዳን፡፡ ውሃውም (የሰማዩና የምድሩ) በእርግጥ በተወሰነ ኹነታ ላይ ተገናኘ፡፡ | (12) and We caused the earth to burst forth with springs, then the waters met for a preordained purpose. |
| (13) ባለ ሳንቃዎችና ባለሚስማሮች በኾነችም ታንኳ ላይ ጫንነው፡፡ | (13) We carried him on an [Ark made] of planks and nails, |
| (14) በጥበቃችን ስር ኾና ትንሻለላለች፡፡ ተክዶ ለነበረው ሰው ምንዳ (ይህንን ሠራን)፡፡ | (14) sailing under Our [watchful] Eyes; as a reward for the one [they] denied. |
| (15) ተዓምር አድርገንም በእርግጥ ተውናት፡፡ ከተገሳጭም አልለን? | (15) We have certainly left it as a sign; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (16) ቅጣቴና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼም እንዴት ነበሩ? | (16) Then how were My punishment and My warnings? |
| (17) ቁርኣንንም ለመገንዘብ በእርግጥ አገራነው፡፡ ተገንዛቢም አልለን? | (17) We have certainly made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (18) ዓድ አስተባበለች፡፡ ቅጣቴና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼም እንዴት ነበሩ! | (18) ‘Ād disbelieved. Then how were My punishment and My warnings? |
| (19) እኛ በእነርሱ ላይ ዘወትር መናጢ በኾነ ቀን በኀይል የምትንሻሻ ነፋስን ላክንባቸው፡፡ | (19) We sent against them a furious wind on a day of continuous misfortune, |
| (20) ሰዎቹን ልክ ከሥሮቻቸው የተጎለሰሱ የዘንባባ ግንዶች መስለው (ከተደበቁበት) ትነቅላቸዋለች፡፡ | (20) sweeping people away, as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. |
| (21) ቅጣቴና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼም እንዴት ነበሩ? | (21) Then how were My punishment and My warnings? |
| (22) ቁርኣንንም ለማስታወስ በእርግጥ አገራነው፡፡ ተገሳጭም አልለን? | (22) We have certainly made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (23) ሰሙድ በአስፈራሪዎቹ አስተባበለች፡፡ | (23) Thamūd rejected the warnings, |
| (24) «ከእኛ የኾነን አንድን ሰው እንከተለዋለን? እኛ ያን ጊዜ በስህተትና በዕብደት ውስጥ ነን» አሉ፡፡ | (24) They said, “Shall we follow a single human being from among us? Then we would surely be in error and insanity! |
| (25) «ከኛ መካከል በእርሱ ላይ (ብቻ) ማስገንዘቢያ (ራእይ) ተጣለለትን? አይደለም እርሱ ውሸታም ኩሩ ነው» (አሉ)፡፡ | (25) Has the revelation been sent down upon him out of all of us? Rather, he is an insolent liar.” |
| (26) ውሸታሙ ኩሩው ማን እንደኾነ ነገ በእርግጥ ያውቃሉ፡፡ | (26) Tomorrow they will know who the insolent liar is. |
| (27) እኛ ሴት ግመልን ለእነርሱ መፈተኛ ትኾን ዘንድ ላኪዎች ነን፡፡ ተጠባበቃቸውም፡፡ ታገስም፡፡ | (27) We are sending the she-camel as a test for them, so watch them [O Sālih] and be patient, |
| (28) ውሃውንም በመካከላቸው የተከፈለ መኾኑን ንገራቸው፡፡ ከውሃ የኾነ ፋንታ ሁሉ (ተረኞቹ) የሚጣዱት ነው፡፡ | (28) and tell them that the water is to be shared between them; each should take its drink in turn. |
| (29) ጓደኛቸውንም ጠሩ፡፡ ወዲያውም (ሰይፍን) ተቀበለ፡፡ ወጋትም፡፡ | (29) But they called their companion, and he undertook the task and hamstrung her. |
| (30) ቅጣቴና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼም እንዴት ነበሩ? | (30) Then how [terrible] My punishment and My warnings were! |
| (31) እኛ በእነርሱ ላይ አንዲትን ጩኸት ላክንባቸው፡፡ ወዲያውም ከበረት አጣሪ (አጥር) እንደ ተሰባበረ ርግጋፊ ኾኑ፡፡ | (31) We sent against them a single blast, leaving them like trampled hedge-building twigs. |
| (32) ቁርኣንንም ለመገንዘብ አገራነው፡፡ ተገሳጭም አልለን? | (32) We have certainly made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (33) የሉጥ ሕዝብ በአስፈራሪዎቹ አስተባበለች፡፡ | (33) The people of Lot rejected the warnings. |
| (34) እኛ በእነርሱ ላይ ጠጠርን ያዘለች ነፋስን ላክን፡፡ የሉጥ ቤተሰቦች ብቻ ሲቀሩ (እነርሱንስ) በሌሊት መጨረሻ ላይ አዳንናቸው፡፡ | (34) We sent against them a storm of pebbles, except the family of Lot whom We saved before dawn, |
| (35) ከእኛ በኾነ ጸጋ (አዳንናቸው)፡፡ እንደዚሁ ያመሰገነን ሰው እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (35) as a blessing from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks. |
| (36) ብርቱይቱን አያያዛችንንም በእርግጥ አስጠነቀቃቸው፡፡ በማስጠንቀቂያዎቹም ተከራከሩ፡፡ | (36) He had already warned them of Our punishing assault, but they doubted the warnings. |
| (37) ከእንግዶቹም እንዲያስመቻቸው ደጋግመው ፈለጉት፡፡ ወዲያውም ዓይኖቻቸውን አበስን፡፡ «ቅጣቴንና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼንም ቅመሱ» (አልናቸው)፡፡ | (37) They even demanded that he let them have their way with his angel-guests, so We blinded their eyes, [saying], “Taste My punishment and My warnings!” |
| (38) በማለዳም ዘውታሪ የኾነ ቅጣት በእርግጥ ማለደባቸው፡፡ | (38) By the early morning a lasting torment overtook them. |
| (39) «ቅጣቴንና ማስጠንቀቂያዎቼንም ቅመሱ» (ተባሉ)፡፡ | (39) Taste My punishment and My warnings! |
| (40) ቁርኣንንም ለመገንዘብ በእርግጥ አገራነው፡፡ ተገሳጭም አልለን? | (40) We have certainly made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (41) የፈርዖንንም ቤተሰቦች ማስጠንቀቂያዎች በእርግጥ መጡዋቸው፡፡ | (41) Indeed, warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. |
| (42) በተዓምራቶቻችን በሁሏም አስተባበሉ፡፡ የብርቱ ቻይንም አያያዝ ያዝናቸው፡፡ | (42) But they rejected all of Our signs, so We seized them with the grip of the All-Mighty, Most Powerful. |
| (43) ከሓዲዎቻችሁ ከእነዚህ በላጮች ናቸውን? ወይስ ለናንተ በመጽሐፎች ውስጥ (የተነገረ) ነፃነት አላችሁን? | (43) Are your disbelievers [O Makkans] superior than those, or have you been granted immunity in divine Scriptures? |
| (44) ወይስ «እኛ የተረዳን ክምቹዎች ነን» ይላሉን? | (44) Or do they say, “We are a united front, bound to prevail.”? |
| (45) ክምቹዎቹ በእርግጥ ድል ይምመታሉ፡፡ ጀርባዎችንም ያዞራሉ፡፡ | (45) Soon their united front will be defeated, and they will flee. |
| (46) ይልቁንም ሰዓቲቱ (ትንሣኤ) ቀጠሮዋቸው ናት፡፡ ሰዓቲቱም በጣም የከበደችና የመረረች ናት፡፡ | (46) But the Hour is their appointed time, and the Hour is more catastrophic and more bitter. |
| (47) አመጸኞች በስህተትና በእሳቶች ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (47) Indeed, the wicked are in error and will be in blazes. |
| (48) በእሳት ውስጥ በፊቶቻቸው በሚጎተቱበት ቀን «የሰቀርን መንካት ቅመሱ» (ይባላሉ)፡፡ | (48) On the Day when they will be dragged into the Fire on their faces, [they will be told], “Taste the agony of Hell!” |
| (49) እኛ ሁሉን ነገር በልክ ፈጠርነው፡፡ | (49) Indeed, We have created everything according to a determined measure. |
| (50) ትእዛዛችንም እንደ ዓይን ቅጽበት አንዲት (ቃል) እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡ | (50) Our command is but a single word, which is fulfilled in the blink of an eye. |
| (51) ብጤዎቻችሁንም በእርግጥ አጠፋን፡፡ ተገሳጭም አልለን? | (51) We have destroyed many like you [O Makkans]; is there anyone to take heed? |
| (52) የሠሩትም ነገር ሁሉ በመጽሐፎች ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (52) Everything they did is in the written records, |
| (53) ትንሹም ትልቁም ሁሉ የተጻፈ ነው፡፡ | (53) and everything, small or big, is written down. |
| (54) አላህን ፈሪዎቹ በአትክልቶችና በወንዞች ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (54) Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and rivers, |
| (55) (እነርሱም ውድቅ ቃልና መውወንጀል በሌለበት) በእውነት መቀመጫ ውስጥ ቻይ የሆነው ንጉሥ ዘንድ ናቸው፡፡ | (55) seated in honor in the presence of the Most Powerful Sovereign. |
