83 – Al-Mutaffifin
| (1) ለሰላቢዎች ወዮላቸው፡፡ | (1) Woe to the defrauders, |
| (2) ለእነዚያ ከሰዎች ባስሰፈሩ ጊዜ የሚያስሞሉ፡፡ | (2) those who take full measure when they take from others, |
| (3) ለእነርሱም (ለሰዎቹ) በሰፈሩ ወይም በመዘኑላቸው ጊዜ የሚያጎድሉ (ለኾኑት)፡፡ | (3) but they give less when they measure or weigh for them. |
| (4) እነዚያ እነርሱ ተቀስቃሾች መኾናቸውን አያውቁምን? | (4) Do they really not think that they will be resurrected |
| (5) በታላቁ ቀን፡፡ | (5) for a momentous Day, |
| (6) ሰዎች ሁሉ ለዓለማት ጌታ (ፍርድ)፤ በሚቆሙበት ቀን (ተቀስቃሾች መኾናቸውን)፡፡ | (6) a Day when people will stand before the Lord of the worlds? |
| (7) በእውነት የከሓዲዎቹ (የሰላቢዎቹ) መጽሐፍ በእርግጥ በሲጂን ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (7) No indeed! The record of the wicked is surely in Sijjīn. |
| (8) ሲጂንም ምን እንደ ኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ? | (8) How do you know what Sijjīn is? |
| (9) የታተመ መጽሐፍ ነው፡፡ | (9) It is a clearly inscribed Record. |
| (10) ለአስተባባዮች በዚያ ቀን ወዮላቸው፡፡ | (10) Woe on that Day to the deniers, |
| (11) ለእነዚያ በፍርዱ ቀን ለሚያስተባብሉት፡፡ | (11) those who deny the Judgment Day! |
| (12) በእርሱም ወሰን አላፊ ኀጢአተኛ ሁሉ እንጅ ሌላ አያስተባብልም፡፡ | (12) None denies it except every sinful transgressor. |
| (13) አንቀጾቻችን በእርሱ ላይ በተነበቡ ጊዜ «የመጀመሪያዎቹ ሰዎች ተረቶች ናቸው» ይላል፡፡ | (13) When Our verses are recited to him, he says, “Ancient fables!” |
| (14) ይከልከል፤ ይልቁንም በልቦቻቸው ላይ ይሠሩት የነበሩት (ኀጢአት) ደገደገባቸው፡፡ | (14) No indeed! Their hearts have been stained by what they used to commit! |
| (15) ይከልከሉ፤ እነርሱ በዚያ ቀን ከጌታቸው (ማየት) ተጋራጆች ናቸው፡፡ | (15) No indeed! On that Day they will be barred from seeing their Lord. |
| (16) ከዚያም እነርሱ በእርግጥ ገሀነምን ገቢዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (16) They will then surely enter the Blazing Fire, |
| (17) ከዚያም «ይህ ያ በእርሱ ታስተባብሉበት የነበራችሁት ነው» ይባላሉ፡፡ | (17) then they will be told, “This is what you used to deny.” |
| (18) በእውነቱ የእውነተኞቹ ምእምናን መጽሐፍ በዒሊዮን ውስጥ ነው፡፡ | (18) No indeed! The record of the righteous is certainly in ‘illiyyīn – |
| (19) ዒሊዮንም ምን እንደ ኾነ ምን አሳወቀህ? | (19) and how do you know what ‘illiyyūn is? – |
| (20) የታተመ መጽሐፍ ነው፡፡ | (20) It is a record inscribed, |
| (21) ባለሟልዎቹ ይጣዱታል፡፡ | (21) witnessed by those who are close to Allah. |
| (22) እውነተኞቹ ምእምናን በእርግጥ በድሎት (ገነት) ውስጥ ናቸው፡፡ | (22) Indeed, the righteous will be in Bliss, |
| (23) በባለ አጎበር አልጋዎች ላይ ኾነው ይመለከታሉ፡፡ | (23) seated on the couches, gazing in wonder. |
| (24) በፊቶቻቸው ላይ የድሎትን ውበት ታውቃለህ፡፡ | (24) You will see on their faces the radiance of bliss. |
| (25) ተጣርቶ ከታተመ ጠጅ ይጠጣሉ፡፡ | (25) They will be served to drink pure wine from a sealed container, |
| (26) ማተሚያው ምስክ ከኾነ፤ በዚህም ተሽቀዳዳሚዎች ይሽቀዳደሙ፡፡ | (26) whose last sip is musk – let those who strive, strive for that – |
| (27) መበረዣውም ከተስኒም ነው፡፡ | (27) and it will be mixed with water from the spring of Tasnīm, |
| (28) ባለሟሎቹ ከእርሷ የሚጠጡላት ምንጭ ናት፡፡ | (28) a spring from which those who are close to Allah will drink. |
| (29) እነዚያ ያምመጹት በእነዚያ ባመኑት በእርግጥ ይስቁ ነበሩ፡፡ | (29) Indeed, the wicked used to laugh at the believers; |
| (30) በእነርሱም ላይ ባለፉ ጊዜ ይጠቃቀሱ ነበር፡፡ | (30) when they passed by them, they would wink at one another, |
| (31) ወደ ቤተሰቦቻቸውም በተመለሱ ጊዜ (በመሳለቃቸው) ተደሳቾች ኾነው ይመለሱ ነበር፡፡ | (31) and when they went back to their people, they would return exulting. |
| (32) ባዩዋቸውም ጊዜ «እነዚህ በእርግጥ ተሳሳቾች ናቸው» ይሉ ነበር፡፡ | (32) When they saw the believers, they would say, “These people are truly misguided,” |
| (33) በነርሱ ላይ ተጠባባቂዎች ተደርገው ያልተላኩ ሲኾኑ፡፡ | (33) although they were not sent as their keepers. |
| (34) ዛሬ (በትንሣኤ ቀን) እነዚያ ያመኑት በከሓዲዎቹ ይስቃሉ፡፡ | (34) So Today the believers will laugh at the disbelievers, |
| (35) በባለ አጎበር አልጋዎች ላይ ኾነው የሚመለከቱ ሲኾኑ (ይስቃሉ)፡፡ | (35) while sitting on the couches, gazing around. |
| (36) ከሓዲዎች ይሠሩት የነበሩትን (ዋጋ) ተመነዱን? (ይላሉ)፡፡ | (36) Have the disbelievers been rewarded except for what they used to do? |
