| (1) በጎህ እምላለሁ፡፡ |
(1) By the dawn, |
| (2) በዐሥር ሌሊቶችም፡፡ |
(2) and the ten nights, |
| (3) በጥንዱም በነጠላውም፡፡ |
(3) and the even and the odd, |
| (4) በሌሊቱም በሚኼድ ጊዜ፡፡ |
(4) and by the night when it comes, |
| (5) በዚህ (መሓላ) ለባለ አእምሮ ታላቅ መሓላ አለበትን? |
(5) are these oaths not sufficient for those who have sense? |
| (6) ጌታህ በዓድ እንዴት እንደ ሠራ አታውቅምን? |
(6) Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ‘Ād |
| (7) በኢረም በባለ ረዣዢሚቱ አዕማድ፡፡ |
(7) of Iram, who were people of great stature, |
| (8) በዚያች ብጤዋ በአገሮች ውስጥ ያልተፈጠረ በኾነችው፡፡ |
(8) the like of whom had never been created in the land; |
| (9) በሰሙድም በእነዚያ በሸለቆው ቋጥኝን የቆረጡ በኾኑት፡፡ |
(9) and Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the Valley; |
| (10) በፈርዖንም ባለ ችካሎች በኾነው፡፡ |
(10) and the mighty and powerful Pharaoh? |
| (11) በእነዚያ በአገሮች ላይ ግፍ የሠሩ፡፡ |
(11) All of them transgressed in the land, |
| (12) በእርሷም ውስጥ ጥፋትን ያበዙ በኾኑት (እንዴት እንደሠራ አታውቅምን?) |
(12) and spread therein much corruption, |
| (13) በእነርሱ ላይም ጌታህ የቅጣትን አለንጋ አወረደባቸው፡፡ |
(13) so your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. |
| (14) ጌታህ በመጠባበቂያ ላይ ነውና፡፡ |
(14) Indeed, your Lord is ever vigilant. |
| (15) ሰውማ ጌታው በሞከረው ጊዜ፣ ባከበረውና ባጣቀመውም (ጊዜ) «ጌታዬ አከበረኝ (አበለጠኝ)» ይላል፡፡ |
(15) As for man, when he is tested by his Lord by honoring him and bestowing blessings upon him, he says, “My Lord has [deservedly] honored me!” |
| (16) በሞከረውና በእርሱ ላይ ሲሳዩን ባጠበበ ጊዜማ «ጌታዬ አሳነሰኝ» ይላል፡፡ |
(16) But when he is tested by restricting his provision, he says, “My Lord has [undeservedly] humiliated me!” |
| (17) ይከልከል፤ ይልቁንም የቲምን አታከብሩም፡፡ |
(17) No indeed! You are not kind to the orphan, |
| (18) ድኻንም በማብላት ላይ አትታዘዙም፡፡ |
(18) nor do you urge one another to feed the needy, |
| (19) የውርስንም ገንዘብ የመሰብሰብን አበላል ትበላላችሁ፡፡ |
(19) and you greedily consume the entire inheritance, |
| (20) ገንዘብንም ብዙን መውደድ ትወዳላችሁ፡፡ |
(20) and love wealth immensely. |
| (21) ተዉ፤ ምድር ደጋግማ በተሰባበረች ጊዜ፤ |
(21) No indeed! When the earth is crushed over and over, |
| (22) መላእክትም ሰልፍ ሰልፍ ኾነው ጌታህ (ለሱ ክብር በምስማማ መልኩ) በመጣ ጊዜ፤ |
(22) and your Lord comes with the angels, rank after rank, |
| (23) ገሀነምም በዚያ ቀን በተመጣች ጊዜ በዚያ ቀን ሰው (ጥፋቱን) ይገነዘባል፡፡ መገንዘብም ለእርሱ ከየቱ? |
(23) and Hell is brought near on that Day – this is when man will understand, but what is the use of that understanding? |
| (24) «ዋ እኔ! ምነው በሕይወቴ (መልካምን ሥራ) ባስቀደምኩ ኖሮ» ይላል፡፡ |
(24) He will say, “Would that I had sent forth something for my [eternal] life!” |
| (25) በዚያ ቀንም የርሱን አቀጣጥ አንድም አይቀጣም፡፡ |
(25) None can punish as He punishes on that Day, |
| (26) የእርሱንም አስተሳሰር አንድም አያስርም፡፡ |
(26) and none can bind as He binds. |
| (27) (ለአመነች ነፍስም) «አንቺ የረካሺው ነፍስ ሆይ! |
(27) [It will be said to the believer,] “O the tranquil soul! |
| (28) «ወዳጅ ተወዳጅ ኾነሽ ወደ ጌታሽ ተመለሺ፡፡ |
(28) Return to your Lord, well pleased and pleasing [to Him]. |
| (29) «በባሮቼም ውስጥ ግቢ፡፡ |
(29) Join My [righteous] slaves, |
| (30) ገነቴንም ግቢ፤» (ትባላለች)፡፡ |
(30) and enter My Paradise.” |
