74 – Al-Muddaththir
| (1) አንተ (ልብስህን) ደራቢው ሆይ! | (1) O you covered [in your cloak], |
| (2) ተነሳ አስጠንቅቅም፡፡ | (2) arise and warn, |
| (3) ጌታህንም አክብር፡፡ | (3) and proclaim the greatness of your Lord, |
| (4) ልብስህንም አጥራ፡፡ | (4) and purify your garments, |
| (5) ጣዖትንም ራቅ፡፡ | (5) and shun idol worshiping, |
| (6) ማብዛትንም የምትፈልግ ኾነህ፤ (በረከትን) አትለግስለለ | (6) and do not do a favor for a greater return, |
| (7) ለጌታህም (ትዕዛዝ) ታገሥ፡፡ | (7) and be patient for the sake of your Lord. |
| (8) በቀንዱም በተነፋ ጊዜ (ነገሩ ይበረታል)፡፡ | (8) When the Trumpet is sounded, |
| (9) ይህም (ጊዜ) ያ ቀን አስቸጋሪ ቀን ነው፡፡ | (9) that Day will be a difficult day, |
| (10) በከሓዲዎች ላይ ገር ያልኾነ ነው፡፡ | (10) not easy for the disbelievers. |
| (11) አንድ ኾኖ ከፈጠርኩት ሰው ጋር ተዎኝ (እኔ እበቃሃለሁ)፡፡ | (11) Leave me to deal with the one whom I created lonely [having no wealth or children etc], |
| (12) ለእርሱም የተዘረጋን ገንዘብ (በያይነቱ) ያደረግሁለት፡፡ | (12) and gave him abundant wealth, |
| (13) (በያደባባዩ) ተገኝዎች የኾኑ ወንዶች ልጆችንም፡፡ | (13) and sons by his side, |
| (14) ለእርሱም (ኑሮውን) መዘርጋትን የዘረጋሁለት (ከኾነ ሰው ገር ተዎኝ)፡፡ | (14) and gave him a life of comfort and power, |
| (15) ከዚያም ልጨምርለት ይከጅላል፡፡ | (15) yet he aspires that I should give him more. |
| (16) ይከልከል፤ እርሱ ለአንቀጾቻችን በእርግጥ ተቃዋሚ ነበር፡፡ | (16) By no means! For he has been stubborn against Our verses. |
| (17) በእርግጥ ችግርን አስገድደዋለሁ፡፡ | (17) I will subject him to an unbearable punishment. |
| (18) እርሱ (በቁርኣን ነገር) ሐሰበ፤ ገመተም፡፡ | (18) For he reflected and plotted [against the Qur’an]. |
| (19) ተረገመም፤ እንዴት ገመተ! | (19) May he perish, how he plotted! |
| (20) ከዚያም (ከሞት በኋላ) ተረገመ፡፡ እንዴት ገመተ! | (20) Again, may he perish, how he plotted! |
| (21) ከዚያም እንደ ገና (በቁርኣኑ ነገር) ተመለከተ፡፡ | (21) Then he looked around, |
| (22) ከዚያም ፊቱን አጨፈገገ፤ አኮማተረም፡፡ | (22) then he frowned and scowled, |
| (23) ከዚያም (ከማመን) ዞረ፤ ኮራም፡፡ | (23) then turned away with arrogance, |
| (24) አለም «ይህ (ከሌላ) የሚቀዳ ድግምት እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡ | (24) then said, “This is nothing but magic from the past. |
| (25) «ይህ የሰው ቃል እንጅ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡» | (25) This is nothing but the words of a man.” |
| (26) በሰቀር ውስጥ በእርግጥ አገባዋለሁ፡፡ | (26) Soon I will make him burn in the Scorching Fire. |
| (27) ሰቀር ምን እንደኾነች ምን አሳወቀህ? | (27) How do you know what Scorching Fire is? |
| (28) (ያገኘችውን ሁሉ) አታስቀርም አትተውምም፡፡ | (28) It leaves nothing and spares no one, |
| (29) ቆዳን በጣም አክሳይ ናት፡፡ | (29) scorching the skin. |
| (30) በእርሷም ላይ አሥራ ዘጠኝ (ዘበኞች) አሉባት፡፡ | (30) It is overseen by nineteen [angels]. |
| (31) የእሳትንም ዘበኞች መላእክት እንጅ ሌላ አላደረግንም፡፡ ቁጥራቸውንም ለእነዚያ ለካዱት መፈተኛ እንጅ አላደረግንም፡፡ እነዚያ መጽሐፍን የተሰጡት እንዲያረጋግጡ፣ እነዚያም ያመኑት እምነትን እንዲጨምሩ፣ እነዚያም መጽሐፍን የተሰጡትና ምእምናኖቹ እንዳይጠራጠሩ፣ እነዚያም በልቦቻቸው ውስጥ በሽታ ያለባቸው (መናፍቃን)፣ ከሓዲዎችም አላህ በዚህ (ቁጥር) ምን ምሳሌ ሽቷል? እንዲሉ (እንጅ አላደረግንም)፡፡ እንደዚሁ አላህ የሚሻውን ያጠምማል፡፡ የሚሻውንም ያቀናል፡፡ የጌታህንም ሰራዊት (ልክ) ከርሱ በቀር ማንም አያውቅም፡፡ እርሷም (የሰቀር እሳት) ለሰዎች መገሰጫ እንጅ ሌላ አይደለችም፡፡ | (31) We have only appointed angels as keepers of the Fire, and We have only made their number as a test for the disbelievers, so that those who were given the Scripture may have certainty and the believers may increase in faith; and neither those who were given the Scripture nor the believers may have any doubts; and so that those [hypocrites] in whose hearts is sickness and the disbelievers may say, “What does Allah mean by this number?” Thus Allah causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and none knows the soldiers of your Lord but He. This is but a reminder to mankind. |
| (32) (ከክህደት) ይከልከሉ፡፡ በጨረቃ እምላለሁ፡፡ | (32) No indeed! By the moon, |
| (33) በሌሊቱም በኼደ ጊዜ፡፡ | (33) and by the night when it departs, |
| (34) በንጋቱም ባበራ ጊዜ፡፡ | (34) and by the dawn when it brightens, |
| (35) እርሷ (ሰቀር) ከታላላቆቹ (አደጋዎች) አንዷ ናት፡፡ | (35) Hellfire is indeed one of the greatest matters, |
| (36) ለሰዎች አስፈራሪ ስትኾን፡፡ | (36) a warning to mankind, |
| (37) ከእናንተ (ወደ በጎ ነገር) መቅደምን ወይም ወደ ኋላ መቅረትን ለሻ ሰው (አስፈራሪ ስትኾኑ)፡፡ | (37) to whoever among you chooses to advance or regress. |
| (38) ነፍስ ሁሉ በሠራችው ሥራ ተያዥ ናት፡፡ | (38) Every soul is held in pledge for its deeds, |
| (39) የቀኝ ባለቤቶች ብቻ ሲቀሩ፡፡ | (39) except the People of the Right, |
| (40) (እነርሱስ) በገነቶች ውስጥ ይጠያየቃሉ፡፡ | (40) who will be in gardens, asking one another |
| (41) ከአመጸኞቹ ኹነታ፡፡ | (41) about the wicked: |
| (42) (ይሏቸዋልም) «በሰቀር ውስጥ ምን አገባችሁ?» | (42) “What brought you to Hell?” |
| (43) (እነርሱም) ይላሉ «ከሰጋጆቹ አልነበርንም፡፡ | (43) They will say, “We were not among those who prayed, |
| (44) «ለድኾችም የምናበላ አልነበርንም፡፡ | (44) nor did we feed the poor, |
| (45) «ከዘባራቂዎቹም ጋር እንዘባርቅ ነበርን፡፡ | (45) and we indulged in falsehood along with those who indulged in it, |
| (46) «በፍርዱ ቀንም እናስተባብል ነበርን፡፡ | (46) and we denied the Day of Judgment, |
| (47) «እርግጠኛው (ሞት) እስከ መጣን ድረስ፡፡» | (47) until the certainty [of death] came to us.” |
| (48) የአማላጆችም ምልጃ አትጠቅማቸውም፡፡ | (48) So the intercession of intercessors will not benefit them. |
| (49) ከግሣጼዬም (ከቁርኣን) የሚያፈገፍጉት ለእነርሱ ምን አልላቸው? | (49) Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from the Reminder, |
| (50) እነርሱ ልክ ደንባሪዎች የሜዳ አህዮች ይመስላሉ፡፡ | (50) as if they were terrified wild asses, |
| (51) ከዐንበሳ የሸሹ፡፡ | (51) fleeing from a lion? |
| (52) ይልቁንም ከእነርሱ እያንዳንዱ ሰው ሁሉ የተዘረጉ ጽሑፎችን እንዲስሰጥ ይፈልጋል፡፡ | (52) In fact, each one of them desires that open [divine] letters be sent to each of them. |
| (53) ይከልከሉ፡፡ ይልቁንም የመጨረሻይቱን ዓለም (ቅጣት) አይፈሩም፡፡ | (53) By no means! They rather do not fear the Hereafter. |
| (54) ይከልከሉ፡፡ እርሱ (ቁርኣን) መገሠጫ ነው፡፡ | (54) No indeed! This [Qur’an] is a reminder. |
| (55) ስለዚህ የሻ ሰው ይገሰጽበታል፡፡ | (55) So whoever wills may take heed. |
| (56) አላህም ካልሻ በስተቀር አይገሠጹም፡፡ እርሱ (አላህ) የመፈራት ባለቤት የምሕረትም ባለቤት ነው፡፡ | (56) But they will not take heed unless Allah so wills. He is most worthy to be feared and most worthy to forgive. |
