37 – As-Saaffaat
| (1) መሰለፍን በሚሰለፉት፡፡ | (1) By those [angels] lined up in rows, |
| (2) መገሠጽንም በሚገሥጹት፤ | (2) and those who drive [the clouds], |
| (3) ቁርኣንንም በሚያነቡት እምላለሁ፡፡ | (3) and those who recite Allah’s words, |
| (4) አምላካችሁ በእርግጥ አንድ ነው፡፡ | (4) indeed, your God is One, |
| (5) የሰማያትና የምድር በመካከላቸው ያለውም ፍጡር ሁሉ ጌታ ነው፡፡ የምሥራቆችም ጌታ ነው፡፡ | (5) Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the points of sunrise. |
| (6) እኛ ቅርቢቱን ሰማይ በከዋክብት ጌጥ አጌጥናት፡፡ | (6) We have adorned the sky with the beauty of the stars, |
| (7) አመጸኛም ከሆነ ሰይጣን ሁሉ መጠበቅን ጠበቅናት፡፡ | (7) and for safeguarding it against every rebellious devil, |
| (8) ወደላይኛው ሰራዊት አያዳምጡም፡፡ ከየወገኑም ሁሉ ችቦ ይጣልባቸዋል፡፡ | (8) so that they cannot eavesdrop on the highest assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side |
| (9) የሚባረሩ ሲሆኑ (ይጣልባቸዋል)፡፡ ለእነሱም ዘውታሪ ቅጣት አላቸው፡፡ | (9) to repel them; and for them there will be a perpetual punishment, |
| (10) ንጥቂያን የነጠቀ ወዲያውም አብሪ ኮከብ የተከተለው ሲቀር፤ (እርሱ ይሰማዋል)፡፡ | (10) except who stealthily snatches away some words, he will be pursued by a piercing flame. |
| (11) ጠይቃቸውም፤ እነርሱ በአፈጣጠር ይበልጥ የበረቱ ናቸውን? ወይስ እኛ (ከእነርሱ በፊት) የፈጠርነው? (ፍጡር) እኛ ከሚጣበቅ ጭቃ ፈጠርናቸው፡፡ | (11) So ask them, “Are they more difficult to create or other things We created? We created them from sticky clay. |
| (12) ይልቁንም (በማስተባበላቸው) ተደነቅህ፤(ከመደነቅህ) ይሳለቃሉም፡፡ | (12) Rather you are astonished, while they ridicule it, |
| (13) በተገሠጹም ጊዜ አይመለሱም፡፡ | (13) and when they are reminded, they pay no heed, |
| (14) ተዓምርን ባዩም ጊዜ ለመሳለቅ ይጠራራሉ፡፡ | (14) and when they see a sign, they ridicule it, |
| (15) ይላሉም «ይህ ግልጽ ድግምት እንጂ ሌላ አይደለም፡፡ | (15) and they say, “This is nothing but clear magic. |
| (16) «በሞትንና ዐፈርና አጥንቶችም በኾን ጊዜ እኛ የምንቀሰቀስ ነን? | (16) Is it that when we are dead and become dust and bones, will we really be raised up again, |
| (17) «የቀድሞዎቹ አባቶችንም? (ይላሉ)፡፡ | (17) and our forefathers too?” |
| (18) «አዎን እናንተ ወራዶች ሆናችሁ (ትነሳላችሁ)» በላቸው፡፡ | (18) Say, “Yes, and you will be disgraced.” |
| (19) እርሷም አንዲት ጩኸት ብቻ ናት፡፡ እነርሱም ወዲያውኑ (ምን እንደሚፈጸምባቸው) ያያሉ፡፡ | (19) It will only be a single Blast, and at once they will be looking around. |
| (20) «ዋ ጥፋታችን! ይህ የፍርዱ ቀን ነው» ይላሉም፡፡ | (20) They will say, “Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!” |
| (21) «ይህ ያ በእርሱ ታስተባብሉ የነበራችሁት መለያው ቀን ነው» (ይባላሉ)፡፡ | (21) [They will be told], “This is the Day of Decision that you used to deny.” |
| (22) (ለመላእክቶችም) «እነዚያን ነፍሶቻቸውን የበደሉትን ሰዎች ጓደኞቻቸውንም ይግገዟቸው የነበሩትንም (ጣዖታት) ሰብስቡ፡፡ | (22) [The angels will be told], “Gather all those who did wrong and their fellows, and whatever they used to worship |
| (23) «ከአላህ ሌላ (የሚገዙዋቸውን ሰብስቧቸው) ወደ እሳት መንገድም ምሩዋቸው፡፡ | (23) besides Allah, and lead them to the way of Hell, |
| (24) «አቁሟቸውም፡፡ እነርሱ ተጠያቂዎች ናቸውና» (ይባላል)፡፡ | (24) and stop them, for they are to be questioned.” |
| (25) (ለእነርሱም) «የማትረዳዱት ለእናንተ ምን አላችሁ? (ይባላሉ)፡፡ | (25) [They will be asked], “What is the matter with you, that you no longer help one another?” |
| (26) በእርግጥ እነርሱ ዛሬ እጃቸውን የሰጡ ወራዳዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (26) Rather on that Day they will surrender completely. |
| (27) የሚወቃቀሱም ሆነው ከፊላቸው በከፊሉ ላይ ይመጣሉ፡፡ | (27) They will turn to one another, reproaching one another. |
| (28) (ለአስከታዮቹ) እናንተ ከስተቀኝ ትመጡብን ነበር ይላሉ፡፡ | (28) [The followers] will say, “It was you who used to delude us from the right way.” |
| (29) (አስከታዮቹም) ይላሉ «አይደለም ፈጽሞ ምእምናን አልነበራችሁም፡፡ | (29) [The misleaders] will say, “Rather, you yourselves were not believers, |
| (30) «ለእኛም በእናንተ ላይ ምንም ስልጣን አልነበረንም፡፡ በእርግጥ እናንተ ጠማሞች ሕዝቦች ነበራችሁ፡፡ | (30) and We had no power over you, rather you yourselves were a transgressing people. |
| (31) «በእኛም ላይ የጌታችን ቃል ተረጋገጠብን፤ እኛ (ሁላችንም ቅጣቱን) ቀማሾች ነን፡፡ | (31) Now the punishment of our Lord has come true against us; we will surely taste it. |
| (32) «ወደ ጥምመት ጠራናችሁም፡፡ እኛ ጠማሞች ነበርንና» (ይላሉ)፡፡ | (32) We did misguide you, for we ourselves were misguided”. |
| (33) ስለዚህ እነርሱ በዚያ ቀን በቅጣቱ ነጋሪዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (33) On that Day they will all share in the punishment. |
| (34) እኛ በአመጸኞች ሁሉ እንደዚሁ እንሠራለን፡፡ | (34) This is how We deal with the wicked, |
| (35) እነርሱ ከአላህ ሌላ አምላክ የለም በተባሉ ጊዜ ይኮሩ ነበሩ፡፡ | (35) for whenever it was said to them, “None has the right to be worshiped except Allah,” they became arrogant, |
| (36) እኛ ለዕብድ ባለቅኔ ብለን አማልክቶቻችንን የምንተው ነን? ይሉም ነበር፡፡ | (36) and said, “Are we going to abandon our gods for a mad poet?” |
| (37) አይደለም እውነቱን (ሃይማኖት) አመጣ፡፡ መልክተኞቹንም እውነተኛነታቸውን አረጋገጠ፡፡ | (37) Rather, he came with the truth and confirmed the messengers. |
| (38) እናንተ አሳማሚውን ቅጣት በእርግጥ ቀማሾች ናችሁ፡፡ | (38) You will surely taste the painful punishment, |
| (39) ትሠሩትም የነበራችሁትን እንጂ ሌላን አትመነዱም፡፡ | (39) and you will only be recompensed for what you used to do, |
| (40) ግን ምርጥ የሆኑት የአላህ ባሮች (ቅጣትን አይቀምሱም)፡፡ | (40) except the chosen slaves of Allah. |
| (41) እነዚያ ለእነርሱ የታወቀ ሲሳይ አላቸው፡፡ | (41) They will have a known provision, |
| (42) ፍራፍሬዎች (አሏቸው) እነርሱም የተከበሩ ናቸው፤ | (42) fruits; and they will be honored |
| (43) በድሎት ገነቶች ውስጥ፡፡ | (43) in Gardens of Bliss, |
| (44) ፊት ለፊት የሚታያዩ ሲሆኑ በአልጋዎች ላይ (ይንፈላሰሳሉ)፡፡ | (44) facing one another on couches. |
| (45) ከሚመነጭ ወይን ጠጅ በያዘ ብርጭቆ በእነርሱ ላይ ይዞርባቸዋል፡፡ | (45) They will be served with a cup of wine from a flowing stream, |
| (46) ነጭ ለጠጪዎች ጣፋጭ ከኾነች፡፡ | (46) white and delicious for those who drink. |
| (47) በእርሷ ውስጥም ምታት የለባትም፡፡ እነርሱም ከእርሷ የሚሰክሩ አይደሉም፡፡ | (47) It will cause no harm, nor will they be intoxicated by it, |
| (48) እነርሱም ዘንድ ዓይናቸውን (በባሎቻቸው ላይ) አሳጣሪዎች የኾኑ ዓይናማዎች አልሉ፡፡ | (48) and with them will be maidens of modest gaze and beautiful eyes, |
| (49) እነርሱ ልክ የተሸፈነ (የሰጎን) ዕንቁላል ይመስላሉ፡፡ | (49) as if they were well-protected eggs. |
| (50) የሚጠያየቁም ሆነው ከፊላቸው ወደ ከፊሉ ይመጣሉ፡፡ | (50) Then they will turn to one another asking. |
| (51) ከእነርሱ የሆነ ተናጋሪ ይላል «እኔ ጓደኛ ነበረኝ፡፡ | (51) One of them will say, “I had a close friend [in the world] |
| (52) «በእርግጥ አንተ ከሚያምኑት ነህን? የሚል፡፡ | (52) who used to say, ‘Are you one of those who believe |
| (53) «በሞትንና ዐፈር አጥንቶችም በሆን ጊዜ እኛ በእርግጥ እንመረመራለን?» (የሚል)፡፡ | (53) that when we die and become dust and bones, shall we be brought for judgment?’” |
| (54) እናንተ ተመልካቾች ናችሁን? ይላል፡፡ | (54) He will say, “Do you wish to see [his fate]?” |
| (55) ይመለከታልም፤ በገሀነም መካከልም (ጓደኛውን) ያየዋል፡፡ | (55) So he will look down and see him in the midst of the Blazing Fire. |
| (56) ይላል «በአላህ እምላለሁ፤ በእርግጥ ልታጠፋኝ ቀርበህ ነበር፡፡ | (56) He will say, “By Allah, you were about to ruin me. |
| (57) «የጌታየም ጸጋ ባልነበረ ኖሮ ወደ እሳት ከሚቀርቡት እሆን ነበር፡፡» | (57) Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among those who are brought [to Hell].” |
| (58) (የገነት ሰዎች ይላሉ) «እኛ የምንሞት አይደለንምን? | (58) [He will say to his fellow believers], “Are we not going to die anymore, |
| (59) «የመጀመሪያይቱ መሞታችን ብቻ ስትቀር፡፡ እኛም የምንቅቀጣ አይደለንምን?» (ይላሉ)፡፡ | (59) except our first death, nor are we going to be punished ?” |
| (60) ይህ (ለገነት ሰዎች የተወሳው) እርሱ በእርግጥ ታላቅ ዕድል ነው፡፡ | (60) This is indeed the supreme triumph! |
| (61) ለዚህ ብጤ ሠሪዎች ይሥሩ፡፡ | (61) For such [reward] let the workers work. |
| (62) በመስተንግዶነት ይህ ይበልጣልን? ወይስ የዘቁም ዛፍ? | (62) Is this a better accommodation or the tree of Zaqqūm? |
| (63) እኛ ለበዳዮች ፈተና አድርገናታል፡፡ | (63) We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers. |
| (64) እርሷ በገሀነም አዘቅት ውስጥ የምትወጣ ዛፍ ናት፡፡ | (64) It is a tree that grows in the bottom of the Blazing Fire; |
| (65) እንቡጧ ልክ የሰይጣናት ራሶች ይመስላል፡፡ | (65) its fruits are like heads of devils. |
| (66) እነርሱም ከእርሷ በይዎች ናቸው፤ ሆዶችንም ከእርሷ ሞይዎች ናቸው፡፡ | (66) They will certainly eat from it, filling their bellies. |
| (67) ከዚያም ለእነርሱ በእርሷ ላይ ከተኳሳ ውሃ ቅልቅል (መጠጥ) አልላቸው፡፡ | (67) Then on top of that they will be given a mixture of scalding water, |
| (68) ከዚያም መመለሻቸው ወደ ተጋጋመች እሳት ነው፡፡ | (68) then their final return will be to the Blazing Fire. |
| (69) እነሱ አባቶቻቸውን የተሳሳቱ ሆነው አግኝተዋልና፡፡ | (69) For they found their forefathers astray, |
| (70) እነሱም በፈለጎቻቸው ላይ ይገሰግሳሉና፡፡ | (70) so they rushed to follow in their footsteps. |
| (71) ከእነርሱ በፊትም የቀድሞዎቹ (ሕዝቦች) አብዛኞቻቸው በእርግጥ ተሳስተዋል፡፡ | (71) Indeed, most of the earlier people went astray before them, |
| (72) በውስጣቸውም አስፈራሪዎችን በእርግጥ ልከናል፡፡ | (72) even though We sent among them warners. |
| (73) የተስፈራሪዎቹም መጨረሻ እንዴት እንደነበረ ተመልከት፡፡ | (73) Then see how was the end of those who were warned, |
| (74) ምርጥ የሆኑት የአላህ ባሮች ብቻ ሲቀሩ፡፡ | (74) except the chosen slaves of Allah. |
| (75) ኑሕም በእርግጥ ጠራን፡፡ ጥሪውን ተቀባዮቹም ምንኛ አማርን! | (75) Indeed, Noah called upon Us; how excellent are We at responding! |
| (76) እርሱንም ቤተሰቦቹንም ከከባድ ጭንቅ አዳንን፡፡ | (76) And We saved him and his household from the great distress, |
| (77) ዘሮቹንም እነርሱን ብቻ ቀሪዎች አደረግን፤ | (77) and made his offspring the only survivors, |
| (78) በርሱም ላይ በኋለኞቹ ሕዝቦች ውስጥ (መልካም ዝናን) ተውን፡፡ | (78) and We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations: |
| (79) «በዓለማት ውስጥ ሰላም በኑሕ ላይ ይኹን፡፡» | (79) “Peace be upon Noah among all the nations.” |
| (80) እኛ እንደዚሁ መልካም ሠሪዎችን እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (80) This is how We reward those who do good. |
| (81) እርሱ ከምእምናን ባሮቻችን ነውና፡፡ | (81) He was one of Our believing slaves. |
| (82) ከዚያም ሌሎቹን አሰጠምን፡፡ | (82) Then we drowned the others. |
| (83) ኢብራሂምም በእርግጥ ከተከታዮቹ ነው፡፡ | (83) Indeed, Abraham was one of those who followed his way. |
| (84) ወደ ጌታው በቅን ልብ በመጣ ጊዜ (የኾነውን አስታውስ)፡፡፡ | (84) When he came to his Lord with a sound heart, |
| (85) «ለአባቱና ለሕዝቦቹ ምንን ትግገዛላችሁ?» ባለ ጊዜ፡፡ | (85) and said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping? |
| (86) «ለቅጥፈት ብላችሁ ከአላህ ሌላ አማልክትን ትሻላችሁን? | (86) Is it false gods that you seek other than Allah? |
| (87) «በዓለማትም ጌታ ሃሳባችሁ ምንድን ነው?» አለ፡፡ | (87) Then what do you think of the Lord of the worlds?” |
| (88) በከዋክብትም መመልከትን ተመለከተ፡፡ | (88) He then cast a glance at the stars, |
| (89) «እኔ በሽተኛ ነኝም» አለ፡፡ | (89) and said, “I am sick.” |
| (90) ከእርሱም የሸሹ ሆነው ኼዱ፡፡ | (90) So they went away from him and left. |
| (91) ወደ አማልክቶቻቸውም ተዘነበለ፡፡ አለም፡- «አትበሉምን?» | (91) Then he turned to their gods and said, “Will you not eat? |
| (92) «የማትናገሩት ለናንተ ምን አላችሁ?» | (92) What is wrong with you that you do not speak?” |
| (93) በኀይል የሚመታቸውም ሆኖ በእነርሱ ላይ በድብቅ ተዘነበለ፡፡ | (93) Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand. |
| (94) ወደእርሱም (ሰዎቹ) እየሮጡ መጡ፡፡ | (94) Then his people came rushing towards him. |
| (95) አላቸው «የምትጠርቡትን ትግገዛላችሁን?» | (95) He said, “Do you worship what you yourselves carve, |
| (96) «አላህ እናንተንም የምትሠሩትንም የፈጠረ ሲኾን፡፡» | (96) when it is Allah Who created you and all what you do?” |
| (97) «ለእርሱም ግንብን ገንቡ በእሳት ነበልባል ውስጥ ጣሉትም» አሉ፡፡ | (97) They said, “Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blazing fire.” |
| (98) በእርሱም ተንኮልን አሰቡ፡፡ ዝቅተኞችም አደረግናቸው፡፡ | (98) They contrived a plan against him, but We made them the lowest. |
| (99) አለም «እኔ ወደ ጌታዬ ኼያጅ ነኝ፡፡ በእርግጥ ይመራኛልና፡፡» | (99) He said, “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. |
| (100) ጌታዬ ሆይ! ከመልካሞቹ የሆነን (ልጅ) ስጠኝ፡፡ | (100) My Lord, grant me righteous offspring.” |
| (101) ታጋሽ በሆነ ወጣት ልጅም አበሰርነው፡፡ | (101) So We gave him glad tidings of a forbearing boy. |
| (102) ከእርሱ ጋርም ለሥራ በደረሰ ጊዜ «ልጄ ሆይ! እኔ በሕልሜ እኔ የማርድህ ሆኜ አያለሁ፡፡ ተመልከትም፤ ምን ታያለህ?» አለው፡፡ «አባቴ ሆይ! የታዘዝከውን ሥራ፡፡ አላህ ቢሻ ከታጋሾቹ ሆኜ ታገኘኛለህ» አለ፡፡ | (102) Then when he reached the age where he could work with him, Abraham said, “O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice you. What you think?” He said, “O my dear father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, one of the steadfast.” |
| (103) ሁለቱም ትዕዛዙን በተቀበሉና በግንባሩም ጎን ላይ በጣለው ጊዜ (የሆነው ሆነ)፡፡ | (103) When they both submitted [to Allah’s command] and Abraham laid him on his forehead, |
| (104) ጠራነውም፤ (አልነው) «ኢብራሂም ሆይ! | (104) and We called out to him, “O Abraham, |
| (105) ራእይቱን በእውነት አረጋገጥክ፡፡» እኛ እንደዚሁ መልካም ሠሪዎችን እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (105) You have fulfilled the dream.” This is how We reward those who do good. |
| (106) ይህ እርሱ በእውነት ግልጽ ፈተና ነው፡፡ | (106) This was indeed a revealing test. |
| (107) በታላቅ ዕርድም (መስዋዕት) ተቤዠነው፡፡ | (107) And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, |
| (108) በእርሱም ላይ በኋለኞቹ ሕዝቦች ውስጥ መልካም ዝናን አስቀረንለት፡፡ | (108) and We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations: |
| (109) ሰላም በኢብራሂም ላይ ይሁን፡፡ | (109) “Peace be upon Abraham.” |
| (110) እንደዚሁ መልካም ሠሪዎችን ሁሉ እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (110) This is how We reward those who do good. |
| (111) እርሱ በእርግጥ ካመኑት ባሮቻችን ነው፡፡ | (111) He was one of Our believing slaves. |
| (112) በኢስሐቅም አበሰርነው፡፡ ከመልካሞቹ የሆነ ነቢይ ሲሆን፡፡ | (112) And We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a prophet, and one of the righteous. |
| (113) በእርሱና በኢስሐቅ ላይም ባረክን፡፡ ከሁለቱም ዘሮች በጎ ሠሪ አልለ፡፡ ለነፍሱ ግልጽ በዳይም አለ፡፡ | (113) We blessed him and Isaac, but among their offspring were some who did good and some who clearly wronged themselves. |
| (114) በሙሳና በሃሩን ላይም በእርግጥ ለገስን፡፡ | (114) Indeed, We bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron, |
| (115) እነርሱንም ሕዝቦቻቸውንም ከታላቅ ጭንቅ አዳንን፡፡ | (115) and We saved them and their people from the great distress, |
| (116) ረዳናቸውም፡፡ እነርሱም አሸናፊዎች ነበሩ፡፡ | (116) and We helped them, so they were the victorious, |
| (117) በጣም የተብራራውንም መጽሐፍ ሰጠናቸው፡፡ | (117) and We gave them both the clear Scripture, |
| (118) ቀጥተኛውንም መንገድ መራናቸው፡፡ | (118) and guided them to the straight path; |
| (119) በሁለቱም ላይ በኋለኞቹ ሕዝቦች ውስጥ መልካም ዝናን ተውንላቸው፡፡ | (119) and We left for them [a favorable mention] among later generations: |
| (120) ሰላም በሙሳና በሃሩን ላይ ይሁን፡፡ | (120) “Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.” |
| (121) እኛ እንደዚሁ በጎ አድራጊዎችን ሁሉ እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (121) This is how We reward those who do good. |
| (122) ሁለቱም በእርግጥ ከአመኑት ባሮቻችን ናቸው፡፡ | (122) Indeed, they were among Our believing slaves. |
| (123) ኢልያስም በእርግጥ ከመልክተኞቹ ነው፡፡ | (123) Indeed, Elijah was one of the messengers. |
| (124) ለሕዝቦቹ ባለ ጊዜ (አስታውስ)፤ አላህን አትፈሩምን? | (124) When he said to his people: “Do you not fear Allah? |
| (125) በዕልን ትገዛላችሁን? ከሰዓሊዎቹ ሁሉ ይበልጥ በጣም አሳማሪ የሆነውንም አምላክ ትተዋላችሁን? | (125) Do you call upon Ba‘l and ignore the Best of the Creators, |
| (126) አላህን ጌታችሁንና የቀድሞዎቹ አባቶቻችሁን ጌታ (ትተዋላችሁን)? | (126) Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” |
| (127) አስተባበሉትም፡፡ ስለዚህ እነርሱ (ለቅጣት) የሚጣዱ ናቸው፡፡ | (127) But they rejected him, so they will surely be brought [for punishment], |
| (128) ንጹሕ የተደረጉት የአላህ ባሮች ብቻ ሲቀሩ፡፡ | (128) except the chosen slaves of Allah. |
| (129) በእርሱ ላይም በኋለኞቹ ሕዝቦች ውስጥ መልካም ዝናን ተውንለት፡፡ | (129) And We left for him [a favorable mention] among later generations: |
| (130) ሰላም በኢልያሲን ላይ ይሁን፡፡ | (130) “Peace be upon Elias.” |
| (131) እኛ እንደዚሁ መልካም ሠሪዎችን እንመነዳለን፡፡ | (131) This is how We reward those who do good. |
| (132) እርሱ በእርግጥ ከምእመናን ባሮቻችን ነው፡፡ | (132) He was one of Our believing slaves. |
| (133) ሉጥም በእርግጥ ከመልክተኞቹ ነው፡፡ | (133) Indeed, Lot was one of the messengers. |
| (134) እርሱንና ቤተሰቦቹን ሁሉንም በአዳንናቸው ጊዜ (አስታውስ)፡፡ | (134) When We saved him and all of his household, |
| (135) (በቅጣቱ ውስጥ) ከቀሪዎቹ የሆነችው አሮጊት ብቻ ስትቀር፡፡ | (135) except an old woman who was among those who stayed behind. |
| (136) ከዚያም ሌሎቹን አጠፋን፡፡ | (136) Then We destroyed the rest. |
| (137) እናንተም ያነጋችሁ ስትሆኑ በእነርሱ (መኖሪያዎች) ላይ (በቀን) ታልፋላችሁ፡፡ | (137) You [Makkans] pass by their ruins by day |
| (138) በሌሊትም (ታልፋላችሁ)፤ ልብም አታደርጉምን? | (138) and by night. Do you still not understand? |
| (139) ዩኑስም በእርግጥ ከመልክተኞቹ ነው፡፡ | (139) Indeed, Jonah was one of the messengers. |
| (140) ወደ ተመላው መርከብ በኮበለለ ጊዜ (አስታውስ)፡፡ | (140) When he fled to the fully-laden ship, |
| (141) ዕጣም ተጣጣለ፡፡ ከተሸነፉትም ሆነ፡፡ | (141) then he cast lots with them, but was among those who lost. |
| (142) እርሱም ተወቃሽ ሲሆን ዐሳው ዋጠው፡፡ | (142) The whale then swallowed him while he was blameworthy. |
| (143) እርሱ ለጌታው ከአወዳሾቹ ባልሆነም ኖሮ፤ | (143) Were it not for the fact that he was one of those who glorify Allah, |
| (144) እስከሚቀሰቀሱበት ቀን ድረስ በሆዱ ውስጥ በቆየ ነበር፡፡ | (144) he would have stayed in its belly until the Day of Resurrection. |
| (145) እርሱ በሽተኛ ሆኖ በቃይ በሌለው (በባሕር) ዳርቻ ላይ ጣልነውም፡፡ | (145) But We cast him ashore on a barren land while he was ill, |
| (146) በእርሱም ላይ (በአጠገቡ) ከቅል የሆነችን ዛፍ አበቀልን፡፡ | (146) and caused a gourd vine to grow over him. |
| (147) ወደ መቶ ሺሕ ሰዎችም (ዳግመኛ) ላክነው፡፡ ከቶውንም ይጨምራሉ፡፡ | (147) We sent him to one hundred thousand people or more, |
| (148) አመኑም፡፡ እስከ ጊዜ ድረስም አጣቀምናቸው፡፡ | (148) and they believed, so We let them enjoy for a while. |
| (149) (የመካን ሰዎች) ጠይቃቸውም፡፡ «ለጌታህ ሴቶች ልጆች ለእነርሱም ወንዶች ልጆች ይኖራልን?» | (149) So ask them, “Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?” |
| (150) ወይስ እኛ እነርሱ የተጣዱ ሆነው መላእክትን ሴቶች አድርገን ፈጠርን? | (150) Or did We create the angels as females while they were watching? |
| (151) ንቁ! እነርሱ ከቅጥፈታቸው (የተነሳ) ይላሉ፡- | (151) No indeed, it is one of their fabrications when they say, |
| (152) «አላህ (መላእክትን) ወለደ፡፡» እነርሱም በእርግጥ ውሸታሞች ናቸው፡፡ | (152) “Allah has children,” and they are truly liars. |
| (153) በወንዶች ልጆች ላይ ይልቅ ሴቶችን ልጆች መረጥን? | (153) Did He choose daughters over sons? |
| (154) ለእናንተ ምን (አስረጅ) አላችሁ? እንዴት ትፈርዳላችሁ! | (154) What is the matter with you? How do you judge? |
| (155) አትገነዘቡምን? | (155) Will you not then take heed? |
| (156) ወይስ ለእናንተ ግልጽ አስረጅ አላችሁን? | (156) Do you have any compelling proof? |
| (157) «እውነተኞች እንደ ሆናችሁ መጽሐፋችሁን አምጡ» (በላቸው)፡፡ | (157) Then bring your scripture, if you are truthful. |
| (158) በአላህና በአጋንንት መካከልም ዝምድናን አደረጉ፡፡ አጋንንትም እነርሱ (ይህን ባዮች በእሳት) የሚጣዱ መሆናቸውን በእርግጥ ዐውቀዋል፡፡ | (158) They claim that there is kinship between Him and the jinn, when the jinn themselves know that such people will surely be brought [for punishment]. |
| (159) አላህ ከሚመጥኑት ሁሉ ጠራ፡፡ | (159) Glorified is Allah far above what they ascribe [to Him]. |
| (160) ግን የተመረጡት የአላህ ባሮች (በአላህ ላይ አይዋሹም)፡፡ | (160) But not the chosen slaves of Allah. |
| (161) እናንተም የምትገዟቸውም ሁሉ፤ | (161) Indeed, you and whatever you worship |
| (162) በእርሱ (በአላህ) ላይ አንድንም አጥማሚዎች አይደላችሁም፡፡ | (162) none of you can lure anyone away from Him, |
| (163) ያንን እርሱ ገሀነምን ገቢ የሆነውን ሰው ቢሆን እንጅ፡፡ | (163) except those who are destined to burn in the Blazing Fire. |
| (164) (ጂብሪል አለ) ከእኛም አንድም የለም፤ ለእርሱ የታወቀ ደረጃ ያለው ቢሆን እንጅ፡፡ | (164) [The angels say], “There is none among us but has a known station: |
| (165) እኛም (ጌታን ለመግገዛት) ተሰላፊዎቹ እኛ ነን፡፡ | (165) We are indeed those who stand lined up in rows, |
| (166) እኛም (አላህን) አጥሪዎቹ እኛ ነን፡፡ | (166) and we are indeed those who glorify Allah.” |
| (167) እነርሱም (ከሓዲዎቹ) በእርግጥ ይሉ ነበሩ፡- | (167) And [the pagans] used to say, |
| (168) «ከቀድሞዎቹ (መጻሕፍት) ገሳጭ መጽሐፍ እኛ ዘንድ በነበረን ኖሮ፤ | (168) “If only we had a scripture like the previous people, |
| (169) «የአላህ ምርጦች ባሮች በሆን ነበር፡፡» | (169) we would have surely been true slaves of Allah.” |
| (170) ግን (ቁርኣኑ በመጣላቸው ጊዜ) በእርሱ ካዱ፡፡ ወደፊትም በእርግጥ ያውቃሉ፡፡ | (170) But they rejected it; soon they will come to know. |
| (171) (የእርዳታ) ቃላችንም መልክተኞች ለሆኑት ባሮቻችን በእውነት አልፋለች፡፡ | (171) Our Word has already been given to Our slaves, the messengers, |
| (172) እነርሱ ተረጂዎቹ እነርሱ ናቸው፡፡ | (172) that it is surely they who will be given victory, |
| (173) ሰራዊቶቻችንም በእርግጥ አሸናፊዎቹ እነርሱ ናቸው፡፡ | (173) and that Our soldiers will surely be the victors. |
| (174) ከእነርሱም (ከመካ ከሓዲዎች) እስከ ጥቂት ጊዜ ድረስ ዙር (ተዋቸው)፡፡ | (174) So turn away from them for a while. |
| (175) እያቸውም ወደፊትም (የሚደርስባቸውን) ያያሉ፡፡ | (175) Wait and see; soon they will see [their end]. |
| (176) በቅጣታችንም ያቻኩላሉን? | (176) Do they really seek to hasten Our punishment? |
| (177) በቀያቸውም በወረደ ጊዜ የተስፈራሪዎቹ ንጋት ከፋ! | (177) When it descends on their courtyard, how terrible will be the morning of those who were warned! |
| (178) እነርሱንም እስከ (ጥቂት) ጊዜ ድረስ ተዋቸው፡፡ | (178) And turn away from them for a while. |
| (179) ተመልከትም በእርግጥም ያያሉ፡፡ | (179) Wait and see; soon they will see [their end]. |
| (180) የማሸነፍ ጌታ የሆነው ጌታህ ከሚሉት ሁሉ ጠራ፡፡ | (180) Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, far above what they ascribe [to Him], |
| (181) በመልክተኞቹም ላይ ሰላም ይኹኑ፤ | (181) and peace be upon the messengers, |
| (182) ምስጋናም ለዓለማት ጌታ ለአላህ ይሁን፡፡ | (182) and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. |
